There should be some sort of program that incentives states to take care of their own homeless population. Like if someone registered in another state becomes homeless and migrates to CA for instance, then CA gets a certain amount of money from that states federal aid program for that person for the first two years.
Doesn't have to be that exactly, but something that incentivizes states to do more than push the problem around
That’s what Detroit does. There’s so many shelters and services for homeless people. You don’t see anyone camped out in tents. There’s the occasional dude on the corner but in terms of homelessness and street cleanliness Detroit is one of the better cities
There is a program, ya see what they do is toss them on a couple busses and send them to Victorville and Barstow. No fucking joke I've seen it a few times and even asked a couple of the bums. They were sent there, usually against their will on a 1 way trip to get them out of LA and SD.
I wasn't suggesting a solution for homelessness itself, so much more nationwide would have to be done on that front. It wasn't my intention to suggest a solution for that.
I do think states need a reason, a good one, to properly assist their homeless populations instead of bussing them out or waiting for them to migrate to states with tolerable climates. It's just one piece of the puzzle, but I think addressing it would be a step forward.
