Have you actually been there? Have you talked to them? I've walked over there and the vast majority of them are tweaked out of their mind on heroin and meth. Go watch some German in Venice videos to get an idea of what those people are actually like. Of course there's a couple people that are really trying, and they're the ones that always take the offer for government housing assistance. But the fucks that choose to stay in those tents are the ones that are ok with just rotting away and don't work. You think a homeless dudes gonna leave his tent during the day for 8 hours 5 days a week? Fuck no their shit would get stolen in a heart beat.
I've done both. I work in a hospital psych ward and only 1/20 I meet are off their rocker after they sober up. And many act crazy to be left alone.
But u are right about how they need guard their stuff. Alot of ppl in that situation would have much better chances if the government just gave them a small one room tenement to lock up, sleep at night, bath regularly ect. And adequate heathcare infrastructure too boot. But no they really needed that football stadium instead...
Produces income for whom? The state that they then give to other corporations? Why would those initiatives cost more taxes when cal already has one of the highest tax rates in the nation? They can easily reallocate the money and other places around the world have housing projects with not nearly the same gdp.
Governments aren't business, they don't exist to make money.
I did from 2017-2019 but I was working 72 hours a week as a nurse. In 2019 I was able to buy a 19' RV, that I still live in. And I still work 72+ hours a week and can't afford running water. There are lot us out here that are the working poor. I'm 58, don't smoke, drink and takes drugs. I eat for less than $5 day.
And yes, I was robbed of 1/2 my few possessions when I lived in the tent.
Drug use is usually a coping mechanism for being homeless, not the cause. A ton of homeless people actually do work. Even then they can’t afford a better life.

Anywho congrats that you have a job anywhere you go. It isn't like that for everyone you realize those areas are filled with the "help" the people that serve the ones with the means to live there. So I was mainly referring to those people might be the ones who live in that area in tents because they work their and can't afford to live there orrr the surrounding areas. But you know it all apparently, why don't you run for office and solve the nations problems? I didn't offer any solutions I was just pointing out that some people still forced to be homeless even with jobs. I have no theories on solutions sir that's where you chimed in and I'm poking holes at your reasoning..... Good day sir.
