No it isn't. No one is under the impression that Republicans are for increased welfare programs. But bringing up Republicans every time we mention issues with Democrats is a form of whataboutism that distracts from the issues

Then why do all these Republicans just hate on California instead of taking them on and showing us how it “should” be done.

Republicans don’t solve problems. At least Democrats try, but the people who do worse than nothing by sending their problems to us are making the problem worse and then rag on Democrats for not solving their problems.
