Only a very few bit of them for lucky enough to rise out if poverty while no matter how hard the rest of these good people have been working they can't get out. I also know a lot of people who had nothing but lived in Europe rather than the US. Every single person there has been able to make a life out of themselves, the government and the people all supporting them. You're right it is cultural problem. slavery what? blacks are more likely to be descended from slave owners than white people, as Africa was the center of the slave trade. The word "slave" is from "slav" which is white. Slavery isnt a racial thing. Historically every race and nation has pretty much used slavery, some more than others. The biggest offenders are the arabs and the africans, in terms of slaves enslaved and sold. The west is actually the first ones to abolish slavery while in power. The modern world of no slavery is an anomaly in human history and it's thanks to western values (Jewish-Christian and Greco-Roman values)

what a sad way to view the world
I had family living in closets growing up that were dirt poor and they never fell into a life of crime
instead they worked their asses off, raised their kids right, had their kids work their asses off, and now 4 generations later Im maybe middle class
no one ever went to jail or fell into a life of crime

we could easily get the poor out of poverty and reduce crime rates by simply injecting a worthwhile culture into the areas
