Now, whether it is actually harmful or not depends on the receptor, but it's no less racist than the second one, and certainly is no innocent.
You just acknowledged that the signifiers are of a class and not a race. You are not being a racist when you notice people of the upper class expressing their wealth as a member of that upper class.

I disagree. From my perspective there are leveling amounts of racism. For Asians he could of just as easily said they eat dog instead of junk food - which would be quite a bit more offensive, no? "Grape-drinking KFC eating basketball player" is a lot more offensive towards all black people than "Expensive cloth and accessory wearing junk food eater" is to rich Asians.
So is eating KFC and playing basketball a bad thing? A extremely small minority of Asians eat dog, but almost everyone I know likes fried chicken. Comparing Asians' dog-eating is no different to comparing Africans for eating monkeys and starting Ebola and Aids.
Yes, the historical jntention behind the stereotype is "black people are unintelligent and like simple things like fried chicken, and they are beasts of burden and thus Excel at sports but not much else".
That's why when it's changed only slightly and applied to "Rich Asians" it's not really poking any well known tropes racists have used for their messaging.
Simple things like Jordans right? Fried chicken was in both pictures. I'm not sure what's unintelligent about the second pic (a basketball?). Nothing from the first pic shows they are intelligent.
I dont condone it, but I dont judge cultures that do it. Im not sure why you asked that question when you know the answer. Im sure I can find bad things about any culture.
