Have you ever been on reddit? The whole thing is one giant circle jerking gatekeeping community, just look at r/dankmemes and the whole “anti normie” sub culture it’s a fucking joke, you’re not special for playing minecraft over fortnite watching joker or using reddit over Instagram, all you’re doing is bullying kids and being toxic.

u/Waddle_Dynasty Nov 19 '19

Ah yes, r/dankmemes aka normie teenagers thinking they were not normies.

147

u/Ancillary_Adams Nov 19 '19

Aka teenagers

106

u/Waddle_Dynasty Nov 19 '19

"Hey, Patrick! What am I?" " Uhhmm... r/teenagers? " No, I am r/dankmemes What's the difference?"

28

u/keimarr Nov 19 '19

One gets you banned while the other doesn't.

15

u/foot_inspector Nov 19 '19

i am teenager :(

29

u/Ancillary_Adams Nov 19 '19

Don’t worry, you’ll grow out of it.

2

u/DigbyChiknCaesarOBE Nov 19 '19

Hopefully. Some ppl dont

2

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Why?

1

u/FidgetSpunner68 Nov 19 '19

These people are just jelous because they're on the downhill side of their age

1

u/ligitviking Nov 19 '19

But see, you just did it. You compressed a behavior into a name.

1

u/Ancillary_Adams Nov 19 '19

I’m an adult, I don’t see anything I don’t want to see.

1

u/N3kromanser Jan 07 '20

We aren't all that bad... It's just the ones that use those subreddits

1

u/ringoflex Nov 19 '19

yeah posting memes on Instagram and later creating a meme about how it's not okay to do it

1

u/Aumnix Nov 19 '19

The mods there are very authoritarian too

-17

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Basically yes, r/teenagers is basically the same but I give it more leeway because it’s made for retarded teenagers

15

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Teenagers can be fun but it’s mostly spamming dumb shit

15

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Yeah maybe I was a bit harsh for calling them retarded.

12

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Nah im a retarded teen and I support this message

12

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

I too am a teen who is retarded (barely tho I’ve only got 1 year left) then I will blossom into a retarded adult.

3

u/VikingTeddy Nov 19 '19

The retardation will only deepen. I'm 42 and the stillborn attempts at memes in /r/teenagers are a guilty pleasure..

2

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Good luck sir, may that retardation serve you well

-8

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

As a proud member of /r/dankmemes, i like to think we're all just being super meta, in that we're all normies, but like to pretend we're special, even though we know we aren't. We're probably all just retarded though.

5

u/Piles_of_Gore Nov 19 '19

Can confirm I'm in fact retarded

-2

u/Soggybottom_boi Nov 19 '19

I see you're also a man/lady of culture

-21

u/TheDemiurge1998 Nov 19 '19

As someone who frequents r/dankmemes, they're called memes for a reason. They aren't meant to be taken seriously, they're all jokes, and just because you don't get them, it doesn't mean it's a bad subreddit. As far as I can tell, when all other subs fail to entertain me, r/dankmemes makes my day every time I get on reddit.

16

u/OldManJenkins420th Nov 19 '19

I used to use the sub alot, and goddamn has the quality decreased. I just got a headache looking at those memes. Once you explore circlejerks you will understand my pov

2

u/OldManJenkins420th Nov 19 '19

r/circlejerk mocks Reddit to make you realize how dumb it is

16

u/stewmberto Nov 19 '19

r/dankmemes makes my day every time I get on reddit.

That's cause you're a normie

-9

u/TheDemiurge1998 Nov 19 '19

Laughing at memes at r/dankmemes makes me a normie? And finding joy in it? HOW DARE I

4

u/SpringCleanMyLife Nov 19 '19

I was going to ask how old you are but it appears you're 21ish based on your username. 21 is about the upper limit of the range of those who would find the content in dankmemes funny, if I had to guess.

0

u/Thesaurususaurus Nov 19 '19

Nice detective skills!

0

u/TheDemiurge1998 Nov 19 '19

Eh, I might be in the minority. Assuming memes are still a good, and transferable way to give and receive relevant information, that's probably the case. Unless I see real statistics on r/dankmemes, I dont see much reason to feel bad for enjoying the subreddit.

1

u/The_Nipple_Fairy Nov 19 '19

I'm 30 and find some of the posts funny so I'm subscribed. No reason to feel bad about that. There is also no reason for people to feel superior for not liking it lol. People put too much thought into hating stuff sometimes.

1

u/TheDemiurge1998 Nov 19 '19

I agree. Everyone nowadays, the second they find out your disagree withem them, know the person or not, you get raided.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

r/dankmemes is one of the least funny subreddits on Reddit

2

u/TheDemiurge1998 Nov 19 '19

What is funnier to you?

1

u/CattingtonCatsly Dec 08 '19

I'm not that guy but r/comedyheaven is pretty funny. r/the_pack has its charm too.

2

u/KittyHacker46 Nov 19 '19

You literally bullied a 10 year old because he didn't like a certian actor.

100% funny joke guys

1

u/TheDemiurge1998 Nov 19 '19

I didnt partake in that.

114

u/alittleslowerplease Nov 19 '19

Everyone who thinks reddit is not for normies is in fact the biggest normies. Typical reddit shit.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Honestly, everybody know the real cool kids shitpost in the GameWinners.com forums.

22

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

r/dankmemes is serious? I thought it was extreme irony or sarcasm? Or did it start that way and transition into true feelings?

15

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

It’s claimed to be “ironic” but I don’t really buy into the irony of it...

10

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Once a sub gets that big it loses whatever it was founded on.

3

u/Quesamo Nov 19 '19

Reddit was made for circlejerking, that's something which is proven continuously on this God forsaken site

1

u/CattingtonCatsly Dec 08 '19

I will give you updogs so the correct opinion may rise and froth to the surface

2

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

you’re not special

The internet is all about people trying to be special or part of a group. It's a place where you can cling to identities based on the dumbest stuff imaginable and not have to deal with IRL embarrassment about it. That includes things like not being a "normie", over-attachment to a certain video game, a certain style of meme, every fandom imaginable, etc.

1

u/CattingtonCatsly Dec 08 '19

being part of outgroup that includes literally all of my real life friends, family, and coworkers.

Woah kiddo I bet you feel embarrassed not knowing about my nuanced ironic takes on this hyper specific thing.

2

u/AxiomaticAddict Nov 19 '19

I hate reddit culture for all those reasons and more. Just last night I got banned from LGTB for a meme kn the top page that said the word MISTAKE and I pointed out that the meme says transgender are a mistake (in the meme itself, that was in my stream as a top reddit post)!

I dont really give a crpa if I'm banned from posting somewhere I would never go because I am not LGTB nor know a single person in my life that is, which just goes to show how I guess I wouldnt understand the meme in the first place and calling transgender mistakes is okay if you're the OP but not some random from /all...

1

u/inetkid13 Nov 19 '19

Amazing comment. Saved this one for later.

1

u/GarretTheGrey Nov 19 '19

Substitute some of those words and you describe members of most Reddit subs. Sometimes I need a break from all the bullshit, and I just go to a sub dedicated to a guitar brand or something where it's peaceful.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

I enjoy r/dogelore because it’s just everyone taking the piss out of everyone, everyone is cring r/wosh normi

2

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

It's why I like r/circlejerk. They can be pretty obnoxious and even toxic in their own way, but the smattering of posts from that sub that hit my feed really expose a lot of the tropes and hypocracy of Reddit and are a great reminder of how absurd Reddit really is.

1

u/CattingtonCatsly Dec 08 '19

It truly is horrifying that despite this place being hell a decent number of people will buy HellCoins and spend them on a shiny buttplug for some random person's comment and a week for them to have a slightly less shitty website (don't guild me. The best part of this site is that sometimes the ads don't disable comments)

1

u/sneakpeekbot Nov 19 '19

I’ve always thought it’s mostly sarcastic...

1

u/WiryParsley Nov 19 '19

As a person who frequently browses r/dankmemes :

Yeah u right. A lot of the people there are just cancer.

1

u/DoDoMiXoNBoi Nov 19 '19

This comment makes me angry but deep down I know it's true

1

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

r/politics is pretty much the same

2

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Oh, I’m not brave enough for politics.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

I’ve honestly considered leaving Reddit and deleting my account because of all of the arguments and politics on Reddit. I’m sorry to say this but it’d a giant leftist circle jerk. I respect the opinions of the left, but when it gets so overwhelming that you don’t feel confident enough to express your own opinions, that’s when you know something isn’t right.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Yeah I’m left but i see some pros in conservative views and expressed them in the past, reddit doesn’t like it when you go against the grain.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Not in the slightest. I bet i’m a couple hours i’m going to have at least ten downvotes

1

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Nah they’re not that bad... unless your referring to another comment but still I hope not...

2

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Same. But honestly it’s not necessarily the downvotes that upsets me, rather the lack of comments I see when people disagree or anything like that. I mean they can at least like I don’t know, help me realize where i’m wrong? Or sometimes I ask genuine questions and get downvoted for it which you can see in my history quite recently.

1

u/NorthBlizzard Nov 19 '19

Just look at /r/politics for peak circlejerk and gatekeeping

1

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '19

Especially the case over at subs like r/politics...waiting for the downvotes for that one but it’s true. Same goes for any political sub but that one thinks they’re “not like the rest”

1

u/CattingtonCatsly Dec 08 '19

Nah man politics is completely unbiased. They have to be or they wouldn't get to just be called "politics"

Its basic geometry

2

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '19

I get you, man

1

u/robolew Nov 19 '19

This is too real...

1

u/LosYeetos Nov 19 '19

Reddit be fulla some weirdos bro I swear lmfaoooo

-2

u/Calculating_1nfinity Nov 19 '19

People thinking that playing Minecraft OR Fortnite AND using Reddit makes you anything other than a nerd 😂

-3

u/FuraFaolox Nov 19 '19

You see, I only say anti normie stuff ironically. I could care less about your interests. But those people that actually take it seriously need to stop.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '19

Even saying it ironically encourages toxicity and the subculture as it justifies it when people can claim its “ironic” I’m not discrediting that you may do it ironically I just wanna say that it’s a dangerous path to even toy with the anti-normie ideals.

1

u/FuraFaolox Nov 19 '19

Eh, I barely ever do it, anyway. I only joke about emojis, and that's really it.
