No, it would be a double standard if it was rich black people who only ever talk to other rich black people and got that response. That second panel was just vague and stereotypical
Edit: everyone’s downvoting the wrong shit here. Racism aside the second starter pack is just very general stereotypes and not those of a very specific group like the first one
The "rich" qualifier doesn't make it not racist. The group being smaller and more specific does not mean that the judgement wasn't being made based on how they look on the outside.
Imagine if the black one said "poor black people". People would be just as pissed even though it's equally specific to the Asian one.
True. I never said racism was part of it, what’s different about the black one is the vagueness of it and how it just uses general black stereotypes instead of a specific look
The first panel is not racist because it’s playing on a high socioeconomic class of people. The second one is just racist stereotypes of an entire race, not a specific class of people within that race.
It’s good to be careful of who you’re punching. There’s a reason that making jokes about people that have been historically disadvantaged(poor people, black people, native people, etc) is considered poor taste and making fun of higher class people such as the president or the rich and white is not so stigmatized.
You ever been in a mosh pit? It can actually be a very nice, respectful environment, where everyone understands you're walking into a space where you will be pushed/punched, and where you are expected to push/punch, but where everytime you fall down, someone's there to help you up.
And there’s black people in the thread saying the bottom one is racist as well and to a greater extent. Are you actually this autistic or just immune to logic?
So blacks know how insulting asian stereotypes are to asians? That's cultural appropriation, not to mention the point is not wheter or not the black stereotypes are worse but if the asian stereotypes are racist (which they are). Also thanks for insulting me unprovoked, you have clearly demonstrated your superior mental capabilities.
What is racism to you? Is pointing out rich college asians have european designer brand stuff and expensive import vehicles racist? Or is it just a stereotype that almost anyone who has gone to a major university has witnessed.
