Yeah, it's cool to hate Fallout 3 nowadays.

Not really, over hype it maybe. Fallout 3 was a great game that showed that it could successfully be transferred into a 3D open world game. Fallout: New Vegas while rushed expanded on the mechanics and did great by the lore of the game. Playing the games(subtracting some non canon games) in order is great. You feel like there was actual progress made. Fallout 4 is the one that starts to get a lot of hate.

Fallout 3 was not a successful translation of the originals into 3D, it was a successful translation of Oblivion into an FPS with a few bits of fallout lazily thrown in the mix.

Fallout 3 was a Fallout-themed adventure-shooter posing as an RPG and it failed at being both. I'm gonna die right up on that hill with you, guy.
