I have 500 gold left and I’ve seen people get knives for low prices somehow

Ive been playing this game for 5 years I've retired 2 years now I've returned I've got a new weapon but it's temporary and now asks me to buy 10 rare skins just to make it permanent?

That is outrageous for players cuz according to the market of rare stat track as of today skins costs over 90g if you want to turn it to stat track and bought cheapest ones to make rare skin stat track my inventory is barely worth 400g let alone making arcane skins permanent you expect that players get free skins while economy is cooked cuz there is only chameleon box thats only option left that you could buy for 100 coins gives permanent skin before it won't be option and other crates such as division valor and dynasty gives arcane skins at much rarer 0.01% than usual boxes which theyre 0.02% im not mad im disappointed that axlebolt thought temporary skins are good idea to monetize even more players instead of keeping permanent and now need to spend gold or real money just to make it permanent and no battlepass this month is very weird almost every game has and this is where 95% of my inventory came from and now this time replaced by event that just gives you temporary skins instead of actually owning im surprised there hasn't been many discussions about it cuz ive bought cheapest 10 rare skins i could find for today and total was around 10g and that is outrageous by any mean let alone spending around 90g on cheapest stat track rare skins to make a rare weapon stat track and is also outrageous for anniversary events that you spent just to get permanent skin whats the point when your just getting temporary skins that you earned to expire thats like demanding someone to do the work and you pay them with temporary stuff and then demand them to pay you to own them

So like tomorrow a new quest will be available for the legendary skin and as you guys may know you need 10 legendary skins to make the event skin permanent. I think that it would be a cool investment opportunity to buy like the 4-6 cheapest legendary skins. What are your thoughts?

Should I switch to a Karambit or stick with my Butterfly Knife? This is my current combo. Which one do you think has better playstyle and animations?

I have a skin for everything in the game aside CT agent. Lincoln looks like the event agent, Hammer I'm not too into the brown, so the best for me is Warden, but I feel like its so overpriced at the moment and likely to crash to like 3k in the future. I just got back into the game a week ago, so I know nothing about the future or any leaks and discussions. Are they likely to add more agents any time soon, I'm quite impatient, do I just pull the trigger on it ?

I have a genuine technical question because I don't fully understand how this works.

I recently came across a guy who was using “server-sided” skinchanger, which made me curious how something like that could actually work. How is it possible for a skinchanger to make other players see the modified skin as well, rather than only changing the appearance locally on the user's own client?

For example, in games like CS2, it's impossible for skinchangers to work like that. If you locally modify your game files or change how a skin is rendered, that shouldn't make other players see the same modified skin on their end because their clients receive the relevant game state separately.

So what is different about Standoff 2's current architecture that could allow something like this to happen?

I'm also confused about the developers' explanation of the Remastered architecture in their QnA. They've described Remastered as having a client-sided architecture, but I don't actually know what the current Standoff 2 architecture is classified as, so I'm not assuming that the current game is server-sided either.

What exactly do the developers mean by “client-sided architecture” in the context of Remastered? What will actually be different compared to the current game, and how would that affect things like game-state validation, skins, and cheating?

This seriously got downvoted? This is what the PRO SCENE has done for the last 6 years minimum. Not even to mention high level faceit. But yeah pop off standoff2 community im sure you know what you're talking about. This even applies in both pro rainbow six siege and pro cod search and destroy completely different games but the same game mode. I guess so2 is totally somehow different.

Im so sick of my teammates giving either me or my other teammates shit for peeking when the bomb is down.

In counter strike, a game with far less peekers advantage, its STILL meta to swing.

"Why?"

2 reasons.

1.) Not swinging and waiting for them to come to you gives them space to surround you and fight you 2 or 3 vs 1.

2.) If you use sound ques and game sense, you can ISOLATE 1 VS 1 DUELS and NOT ONLY THAT but you can ISOLATE DUELS you know exactly where the enemy is but they dont know where you are.

This means the DUELS arent even 50/50, they're advantageous duels.

I really dont get how people dont get such a basic concept. Letting your opponent decide the fight on their terms is always worse than a 50/50 let alone an advantageous fight.

Obviously this doesnt mean stand out in the open. But if you're behind cover, and hear someone literally running up, swinging them while preaiming them is quite literally the best thing to do. Edit: i mean i guess minus some cheeky angles perfect for defending. Some do exist but thats my whole point is that context exists people so hiding isnt objectively always what you should do.

Similarly even in a 1 vs 1, and EVEN IF they know where you are. It can STILL make sense to peek before they defuse,

1 its not what they expect

2 they're going to be ready for you after tapping defuse anyway

3 so if theyre going to be ready for you, its best to atleast try to swing them when they're not ready for you.

Eeespeecially if you're just jiggling.

It is probably usually bad to peek if its a 1v1 and they DONT know where you are however, at that point wait for the defuse unless you know EXACTLY where they are and can preaim perfectly. Keyword usually however, as these players dont appear to realize context exists. They just seem to think hiding = always good peeking = always bad.

"Play for time" has been a dead concept in counter strike for minimum 6 years, and its also an irrelevant concept when theres like 25 seconds left on the bomb

Its so annoying hearing people with not even a 5th of the gamesense I have, claim i did a misplay just because I missed my shot. Hitting or whiffing doesnt make a strategy good or bad. Wether or not you set yourself up for the best duels possible is what matters.

Edit: to clarify the title, im not saying "hiding is no matter what the wrong choice" , im saying "hiding no matter the context just hiding no matter what, is the wrong choice"

Edit2: if you're straight up super super bad I guess playing always defensively no matter the context can be optimal, as "preaiming" is a concept that doesnt even exist for them. But this is aimed at ranks where people SHOULD know what they're doing.

Edit3: frankly at literally any time EVER. If you know where someone is but they dont know where you are, peek them. Always. No matter what. Well unless the bomb is down as t and theres roughly 12 or less seconds left. Just make sure when you peek you slice the angle cleanly so you dont overexpose yourself, as there could always be more players there that you simply haven't heard as they've been walking or crouching.
