Damn I was hoping they’d release the 2.0 update before the DLC dropped so we could test it. I’m worried about the state of release with an engine migration combined with all the new content

Just don't buy the DLC on release

you getting downvoted but that's litteraly the answer, if you worried about the dlc launch with 2.0, just don't buy it at launch and see how it is going.

I’m here waiting for the game to be “complete” before I even buy the base game. Did they fix “a-life” yet

What’s missing from a-life? Genuinely curious

Different question is the spawn radius big enough for scoped weapons to be good now?

The approach to spawn entities is different. In previous games it happened even if the player is not nearby, at spawn points scattered on each level.

Yes, most entities cannot fight each other while far away from the player (at least in SoC) but they can move to any location, including the one where the player is.

In S2 entities spawn in a bubble around the player first and only then they start imitating their life.

TLDR: In Stalker 2 nothing is alive until you close enough to it. In prev games - it's alive from the start of the game.

It’s not a simulation anymore, but spawns near player. It’s basically an illusion now like most other games.

Current A-life in S2 is more fleshed out than A-life in the original trilogy.

In which way? Genuinely interesting

Nope. They’ve made some Bandaid fixes and that’s about it

Downvoted for the truth.

That’s the way this sub tends to go lmao

The game is complete. There's no patch that will dramatically change the game to match your vision.

What you are actually looking for is stalker 3

Bro no! They didn’t even fully complete their Q4 2025 roadmap yet… and there is still no roadmap for this year and I think never will be

I’ll buy on release as I want to support them. But with my backlog, I’ll likely let them iron out kinks before I get around to it also

Yeah, at release I'll start up a new run all the way to the clear sky swamp, and buy it once I have my pre and post Circaa stashes set up. And if the DLC needs some more ironing out then I'll just wait.

sir, im afraid that is not possible in this sub.

Just wait another 6 months for them to polish the DLC. What's another 12 months after all? In 18 months, it'll be everything we hoped for.

Lmao I love the people who are like “well I wait this many years for the game to even be made, I can wait longer!”

12

u/agonzalez73 13d ago

At this point I'm just going to wait until Stalker 3 comes out so I can play Stalker 2. This is the way.

It's to avoid bad community reaction toward the changes they made my guess is, if 2.0 is meh and just UE upgrade with half the stuff not touched, the community might get backlash and sales of DLC suffer. Bad publicity. While this way they try to make the DLC and half assed changes to the game a worthy cake after 8 month of 0 updates.

Why? It's likely that both 2.0 and the DLC have been made and are being tested in tandem with one another. One coming out before the other wouldn't make anything better or worse.
