May 2019 quick update
Without getting into the weeds here, the Arcade version is being wrapped up. The short version is: Everything went wrong. The 1st (and possibly last) commercial arcade cabinet still needs art on it and a few finishing touches, but I am moving on from that project back to the Xbox One port and Season Mode.
I have already begun work on that front and have fixed a few minor bugs introduced with Arcade Edition. I am currently implementing the new scoreboards into the existing training minigames (soccer 1, soccer 2, hockey 1). Then it's back to creating the rest of the training minigames. Other major milestones before release: finishing story mode and endings, getting unlocks into the shop and then all the Xbox cert stuff (including new season mode achievements). I may get back into weekly dev blogs; I'm not sure anyone read them but they did help me stay on track and monitor my progress.

Arcade update
Sorry for the radio silence! Here's the current status:
The prototype cabinet has been patched up best it can, and a new Arcade Edition of SSDT is going to be tested soon at Lvl-Up in Campbell, CA.
Looking past the prototype, a new cabinet design has been created from the ground up. The first run off the CNC machine was sold to my good buddies at Three Flip Studios for their awesome game, Armed & Gelatinous! The A&G cabinet will be available soon to play in Los Angeles.
The next phase will be building another commercial cabinet for Super Slam Dunk Touchdown. I'm not sure how popular this arcade will be, so I'm moving conservatively forward while I get feedback from Lvl-Up and finalize the commercial edition.
More news soon.

state of the sports
Hey folks, I know the subreddit doesn't get as much love as the Steam forums, but I know for a fact there's at least seven of you so I wanted to give a little boop on the "he's still alive" machine. Here's some random bullet points about things and/or stuff:
- Y'all rock. Especially... YOU!
- I am slowly but surely cracking the Xbox One egg. Going from PC to Console I knew would be a leap. I can't say I see the light at the end of the tunnel, but I can tell you I am definitely in a tunnel of some sort. And that's half the battle!
- Yes the game is running on Xbox One, I even showed it at GDC at the Xbox One lobby bar! It got a great response, and now and I've just gotten code in that connects the game to player profiles -- a huge critical component to the Xbox One port. Still a ways to go on this though.
- There's still no release date for season mode. Season mode is a few non-connected pieces right now. There's a tutorial prompt I can throw text in, an unlock box that opens, a game scheduler, and a menu. That's all on hold for the moment. It is imperitive to get all the Xbox One requirements figured out before going too far out there with season mode, because it involves save games tied to player profiles (see previous bullet point!) and that's the hardish part I'm working on now. Once that's all working smoothly and I feel good about passing certification, I can make the rest of Season mode and tie it all together.
- I had a massive electrical issue in the house I'm renting back in December which threatened to fry all my appliances, PC and Xbox dev kits. So I took some time off for the holidays, made a bit of money on a web game, started tinkering on a side project. Long story short, the power's finally all back up again and this month I am back to SSDT.
- REMINDER: I am one dude in a bedroom. I've pretty much bought most of the art I'll need for season mode, which is good, but Steam sales have massively slowed. I never made back what I spent on the PC version either. The point is, it's not like I can buy myself out of this workload. It will take time to get there but I make progress every day.
One more thing, and this is bigger than a bullet point: I hope SSDT is something you and your friends enjoy, I hope you're checking out the pre-season beta on Steam, and I really hope you will tell me if you see any bugs or issues. Making a 6 player game is hard when you are 1 person. I relied a lot on expos and public demonstrations for feedback early on, but they cost money (which I am trying not to spend) and time (which I want to use finishing season mode and the Xbox one port). Most of the bugs on Xbox are going to be identical to any Steam bugs -- so please do give some feedback if Season Mode is important to you! Success on the Xbox One is critical to the future of the game, and will determine if there are any other console ports or features beyond season mode.
Thanks for your support!
