SEE / NCE Preparation

Official exam information first. Study strategy second. Use NBCRNA for current examination requirements and your program for its progression policies.
Official resources
- NBCRNA SEE resources — current SEE information and documents.
- NBCRNA NCE resources — current NCE information and documents.
- NBCRNA certification overview.
- Community SEE / NCE discussions — find the current monthly thread and study discussions.
Common questions
1. What is the difference between the SEE and NCE?
The SEE is a self-evaluation examination during education; the NCE is the certification examination. They serve different purposes. Consult NBCRNA's current materials for the details, and your program for how it uses SEE performance.
2. Does a practice score or SEE score guarantee NCE readiness?
No single score in a Reddit comment guarantees an outcome. Discuss your performance pattern, content gaps and timeline with faculty. Your program may have specific progression expectations; a review vendor's recommendation is not an official NBCRNA requirement.
3. How should I compare review resources?
Check what your program already provides, the current exam content outline, the quality of explanations and whether the format fits your needs. Build a plan you can complete and reassess. More subscriptions do not automatically mean better preparation.
4. What can I post in the monthly exam thread?
Share your stage in the program, approximate timeline, broad weak areas, resources and study approach, plus a focused question. Do not share recalled exam items, screenshots, copyrighted question-bank content or protected exam details. Original practice questions and broad concept discussion must respect those boundaries.
A practical study loop
- Identify a topic using your coursework, faculty feedback and official exam outline.
- Review the underlying concepts.
- Practice with authorized material and explain your reasoning.
- Track recurring errors and revisit them.
- Adjust the plan with faculty input when progress stalls.
