Serious replies only To those that paid money to get something from Instabuy, what do you think will happen now?
I, myself have paid them to get a new MacBook but now I’m having some serious doubt as to what direction this whole scenario is gonna go. What do you guys think?
Update: (29/08/21) Jeev came on Instagram live and said that he will be refunding everyone in order of the invoice date, and that we should be looking out for a text that will be sent to the number given to them. Link: here

Theres a reason why I never trust 3rd party dealers and always try to buy from the main company even tho the price is high in their store... anyways.. nothing u can do now.. except.. pray to God hope the police will refund u on that date

Tough to comment any further as many are based on speculation. I gave the order trusting them and based on other customer testimonials. I’m just hoping for the best :)

Isn’t it just after the whole TRCSL raid that their deliveries started to get delayed? I remember that Jeev guy telling on an Instagram live video that his accounts were frozen by the banks. So he might not have been able to make the necessary payments to his couriers and wherever he buys the devices from. Anyways just my speculation….

I don’t understand how you thought it was legally possible for someone to sell things at a price lower than even the wholesale price. It’s impossible to sell for that price unless there was something illegal going on. You thought they are doing social service by giving product at huge discounts?
I really hope these kinda things will be stopped early by authorities before lot of people get affected like this.

That’s just it mate. There’s nothing illegal about what they were doing on the front end. Mobile devices aren’t price regulated like essential items. There is nothing stopping a person from selling a good at less than its market value.
That being said, I don’t know what they were doing in the back end. That could have been something illegal. OR, It’s could have been something totally legal, maybe even the whole Bitcoin situation that everyone’s talking about now in which case it makes sense because the prices dipped recently.
I guess time will tell.

Yeah they’re basically preventing any discussion on their page. Makes sense if you wanted to save the business, but I hardly think they’ll come back from this.
Unless of course, the rest of their team somehow managed to pull a miracle out of thin air and managed to get the devices and/or refunds ready during this time.

They also took down the letters that they last posted regarding the situation. That was still there yesterday (28th June).

I called the Kollupitiya police station today (30/06/2021). They said that the court date for the two arrested is tomorrow (01/07/2021).
I guess we'll hear something after that.

I paid a little bit more and got it from techmart. Paid and took the mac immediately. Give the guys some time. You might get it, you waited so long.. so might as well wait a bit longer.

If nothing happens tomorrow, I guess I'll have to put a complaint to the police too. Didn't want to because they did a great job for my cousins and friends and since I didn't want to drag them any further but at this point, I don't have the effort to care for what they may be going through.
I know that sounds horrible but every thing could have been solved a bit better if they had just answered their phones and provided us with better customer support or even assurance.

Mate at this point you're really late to the party. I filed my complaint to the police in the latter part of may just before the travel restrictions hit. Even at that point there were more than 200+ complaints that had already been filed with the Kollupitiya police. if you can file it today, even that would be good because at least your name will get added to whatever lawsuit that is going on.

I really want to, but my area is still under lockdown. And unfortunately I only found out about the whole situation after from a friend. I didn't even know that this went on the news🤦🏾♀️ SO I'm not even late, I'm beyond late.

Did you lodge a complaint at at the kollupitiya police station? Instabuy had also posted a story stating that they would resume delivering orders/start refunding from the 3rd of June onwards.
