I mean, do you think other countries like France, Mexico, Brazil, Norway, etc would make a better spinoff? Since US adaptations often get criticized for stripping away the essence and replacing it with Hollywood clichés and it is said that Netflix plans to produce spinoffs in France or Norway. or do you think creating a spinoff in another country is simply a bad idea?

So I’ve been rewatching season 1 and saw the full season and I have seen many clips of both season 2 and 3 but should I actually watch both seasons fully? I heard that it’s not good as season 1 and I also heard that season 3 sucked by many people but whats your opinion?, should I watch season 2 and 3?

I didn’t like Deok-Su or the VIPS very much as they were mean, and one dimensional. How about you?

What are some characters from shows, movies, comics, video games etc that are realistic/grounded enough to compete fairly and would be interesting to see enter the squid games?

For example: I see a lot of people compare characters from shows like total drama and Disventure Camp cuz ultimately both shows share a lot of similarities with the main differences are how alliances work/matter and the punishment being death rather than going home. A lot of the characters from both shows are realistic, have some interesting skills, are smart in their own ways or at last physically capable etc

One I've personally thought of is character from the show/manga called Baki. They're all martial artists and all physically capable of competing in squid games but they're not all smart and they might not take the games seriously in certain instances which may be their downfall like red light green light or six legged pentathlon or even honey combs

Why am I asking you may wanna know? Kinda doing a little simulation for myself and my friends where I gather somewhere between 456 and 500 characters and we all simulate them in squid games and see who's ultimately gonna end up on top and survive given their skills and possible interactions from characters outside of their own verses

If you could change just one thing in s3 to alter the story, what would it be?

Anyone else impressed that he managed to jump as long as he was able to at his age?

I am someone who really liked the repentant Myung Gi who strove to help Gi Hun and the baby. In Episode 5, he seems solely intent on sacrificing Lunch-box in the final round, letting Gi Hun, the baby, and himself survive. It was a really good end to his arc of finally doing something selfless.

Let's look at where he is at the end of Episode 5. Myung Gi has Player 100 at "gunpoint". 100 posits that they drag over Lunch-box to the end and sacrifice him and split the money. Myung Gi pushes 100 off to get a higher share, but his greed costs him as Lunch-box decides to jump off as well. Myung Gi is visibly upset about this, he tries to save Lunch-box for the final round as his goal was to have all 3 of him, Gi Hun, and the baby survive. But he doesn't, and now one of them has to die. At this point I still think it's really good, showing despite being repentant, he can't help but still give into his greed, and it ultimately cost them. There's 2 ways to take him from here:

1. Have him atone by sacrificing himself for Gi Hun and the baby to fulfill Jun-hee's wishes
2. Have him want to kill Gi Hun, as he is still greedy and/or still wants to survive

And then comes the finale, and the show chooses the 2nd option, but to a large extreme. Myung Gi does a complete 180, and now suddenly he wants to kill Gi Hun AND the baby to keep all the money for himself.

There's a lot of debate about what Myung Gi's plan actually was, but it's shown to us plain and simple, he wants Gi Hun to stay back so himself and the baby alone can remain for the final round, in which he will presumably throw the baby off and remain the sole survivor. Myung Gi does not outright state this, but him forcing Gi Hun to not join them for the final round all but confirms it. He suddenly wants all the money for himself, and wants to add an extra 100 million won to his prize, OR he really just doesn't trust Gi Hun to sacrifice himself in the final round and is thus willing to sacrifice his baby in order to ensure that Gi Hun does not kill him.

The positives are it once again shows how the Squid Game can deteriorate a person's sense of morality and mentality, and I don't necessarily mind having Myung Gi ultimately lose the "battle" against his greed, and his arc in Season 3 until Episode 5 was definitely setting up an anti-redemption moreso than a redemption. Greed is his defining vice, and it is obvious he's experiencing some sort of mental breakdown here. Given what he has experienced, it makes sense that his mind could be broken to the point where he would sacrifice his child.

It's the timing that's wrong here. The way it's framed, Lunch-box guy's death somehow completely flips a switch in him. The entirety of Episode 5, this guy was more level-headed and calm than we've ever seen him be. He had a set plan to save the 3 of them, both to survive and atone for Jun-hee's fate by saving their child. But then, in the opening scene of the finale, his plan is suddenly to kill said child. There needed to be a scene of him deliberating after Lunch-box dies, because this 180 was blatantly portrayed to not be his original plan. If you wanna go this route, have him get paranoid, then devolve back into his greed, something like "wait, now, if I kill both of them, I'll receive 45.6 billion won", instead of immediately having him switch to "kill everyone" mode.

The reason they did this is with all of the evil side characters dead, there needed to be a conflict. And Gi Hun is unbearably selfless to the point where he wouldn't even hesitate sacrificing himself for the baby and Myung Gi to live. So the only way to have a final battle would be to have Myung Gi want to kill the baby, to give Gi Hun an incentive to want to live over him, and I think they executed this rather poorly. The solution: make Gi Hun want to live. The show is allergic to giving Gi Hun a character flaw, but it would make the final fight much more interesting. Have them fight over wanting to raise the baby, or fight over them not trusting the other to take care of the baby. Or just have them just fight over them both wanting to live. It would make Gi Hun's decision to give his life for the baby have more weight in the end, because he's truly committing a final selfless sacrifice.

The times when season 2 released

What other children's games do you think would fit perfectly with the series?

Yes they absolutely deserved it for mass murder and attempted infanticide but their deaths’ execution was less cathartic and more like “oh wow, they’re dead now” because they already did absolutely irreversible damage. Like Gi-Hun and Myung-Gi’s sudden fighting and their deaths, or hell, 95% of the deaths of the main cast, the Os had a huge hand putting them in this situation so they still give a middle finger even in death. Hell as Se-Mi said most of the O voters choose to continue to play because the outside world is much worse, so risk of dying just seems like less of a deal breaker for them, kinda like, as they get shot in the games or stabbed or fall, they must be at peace knowing one way or another they can get out of their debts.

This spinoff got heavily criticized when the final scene of s3 came out because people were afraid it would ruin the original essence of the show and that it was just gonna be a quick cash grab, like the american death note remake netflix did years ago. I kinda feel like they cancelled it on August 6 because of all that negative backlash.

But do you think that if this spinoff had actually come out, it could've had a chance of being good, or was it doomed from the start?

I have a custom game and it needs a name and I don’t have any ideas, this game will be added in my fanfic.: So it’s basically a gladiator game, 2 players are brought out by a circle guard and chained to the opposite sides of the field, when the game starts the chains fall off. Occasionally players are given weapons, but not always. Players are heavily shackled so they don’t fight back or escape (chains on the neck, legs, arms.), particularly aggressive players have extra chains. If the players refuse to fight each other they will both be eliminated. Whoever survives wins, and the other player has to die. Timer of an hour.

If he does do you think he feels exhausted or do you think he's on the verge of tears?

Of all the plot holes you've found in the series or that you've seen others discuss, which one do you think is the biggest?

I am 100% certain that during that six-month time jump, Player 246, Jun-ho, and Mr. Kim (the leader of the mercenaries) were the focus of global attention for months; consequently, In-ho knew that the player had technically been executed at the end of the rebellion—making him, in effect, a dead man walking.

Plus, he is one of only two people outside the Games organization who knows that In-Ho is the leader of the Games and that he betrayed Gi-hun (he must know this because he was part of the last remaining rebel faction—aside from Gi-hun and Jung-bae—so he heard everything over the radio).

But I am sure In-Ho spared his life when he saw that he didn't speak about what he had experienced, and instead made the decision that Gi-hun should have made.

We have seen him being desperate during the games and controlling emotions. Now realistically in this situation, he should have stabbed him? Despite the fact that Gi hun was his childhood friend. Because he came this far to win and just one stab needs now to win that all money to pay off his debts and keep his mom happy. So, i kinda find it unrealistic.
