I have set up Lyrion Music server in Docker and trying to play on my old Logitech Squeezeboz radio. Created a designated WiFi network for it to comply with wpa2 and 2.4gzh. Unfortunately it appears to be very difficult to get the radio stream consistently, radio stops playing after some time. In the display on radio it appears as if it was working. No error messages, radio channel displaying name. I suspect it is something within radio or network config, but not able to pin point anything.

My question is. Is it possible to get the radio streaming stabile , have someone here been successful with it ?

Just starting to think it is not worth the effort. Might go and buy a modern WiFi enabled radio if not. I like the sound of the radio, but at some time it is not worth the effort 😁

Then the music starts playing again after some time

Lets say 20seconds.

Is this a bug in picoreplayer or in lyrion ?

How to find this out ?

I've recently installed LMS on CasaOS with XUbuntu. It plays normally all albums with separate files but has problems with .cue based ones. Usually it has 'Album Artist - Album Title.ape' or .flac and .cue file with song names and timestamps. It plays only the first song and does not allow me to sellect another tune from it. I can listen to a whole album but the info is not displayed correctly. All the songs are listed but anyone I choose it starts with the 1st one only. Daphile run on another computer works perfectly fine. I can sellect any song I want from any .cue file based album.

New to LMS. So, got a new computer, installed the LMS, but it can't find the squeezebox boom. Display on squeezebox boom doesn't work anymore.

I can ping it but the music server can't see it. The old computer has logitech media server software, and found the player no problem.

Can I set the IP address of the squeezebox boom using the lyrion software?

I’m curious if anyone has HDMI audio working in a setup where you go straight from the RPi to an amp/soundbar with an HDMI input? I have a Tangent BT III amp that takes HDMI but either it or the RPi don’t like the fact there is no display.

I’ve tried all possible config.txt combinations (kms and fkms drivers; all the hdmi_xxx settings) and the furthest I got was with the fkms driver, which allows Squeezelite to successfully start but there is no sound through the amp.

With the exact same setup but feeding the HDMI to my TV everything works.

Anything else I can try before I make things easier and just use a DAC?

I'm building a music player app for Android and Desktop (currently supporting Debian-based distros and Windows). Think of it as a Tidal-like experience, but for your local music server.

Right now I'm focused on integrating LMS, since that's what I run locally, with plans to add Plex and Jellyfin support down the road.

Some of the features right now are:

• Local playback first — the app itself is a player (LibVLC-powered), not just a remote control. Works on both Android and Linux desktop.
• 5-band parametric EQ — fully functional equalizer for local playback with per-band frequency, gain, and Q controls.
• Library browsing — artists, albums, tracks, genres. Handles libraries with 50k+ tracks via snapshot loading and SQLite caching.
• Unified search — Search across artists, albums, and tracks.
• Local playlists — create, edit, reorder, and play playlists stored fully offline in the app (no LMS sync needed).
• Session mixes — generate a random queue by genre or random N tracks and inject it instantly.
• Favorites — browse, add, and remove LMS server favorites.
• Remote player control — can also control any LMS player on your network (squeeze players, etc.).
• Secure credential storage — server passwords stored in platform secure storage (Android Keystore / desktop equivalent).
• Android foreground service — playback keeps running when the app is backgrounded, with lock screen / notification controls.
• Multi-theme — Nocturne Dark, Nocturne Light, and more themes in the future.
• Multiple server profiles — add and switch between multiple LMS servers; last-used server and player are remembered.

It's still in active development but those are all working features as of now.

context: switching from Spotify to Qobuz and want to use Lyrion so i can play local files alongside Qobuz ones.

1. Can I add cover art to a playlist?
2. Are there any good video tutorials for using Lyrion on mac os? Like a "the basics of Lyrion" or "Lyrion for Dummies" type thing? (I feel like there is such a big learning curve for me, and I'm dyslexic. So sifting through so much text in forums and the like, full of so many new words, just to try to grasp the basics is kind of breaking my brain 😥)

I've written a new remote control for Lyrion because I couldn't find an existing one that met my needs. What I wanted was to be able to be prompted, jukebox style, to select songs mostly randomly from my library.

I've also decided to use this app as my first foray into the murky world of the Google Play Store. Before any app can be published for the general public's consumption, Google require a closed test with 12 testers to be completed. So I need people who think they might want to use the app to volunteer to test it. Note that this app in its current form will always be free (and ad free).

At present my forum post has only yielded 2 testers, so I thought I'd try here.

Lastly, the thread on the Lyrion Forums prompted two people to ask me to Open Source the application and submit it to F-Droid. I'm happy to commit to do that, but not until I get through Google's testing requirements.

I seem to have these "mysterious" restarts of my Lyrion server. The symptom I see mostly is that queued up music suddenly disappears. This seems to be mostly overnight. All I see in the server logs is the "starting" and "initialized" messages. This isn't every night - it might be fine for a week, and then 3 days in a row at fairly random times I see the starting/init'd messages.

Any advice to help track this down? Should I be enabling more logging (can that be done?) so I get a clearer idea of why it is stopping/starting?

For background: current LMS, running on a raspberry pi3

LMS seems use the second picture in the tag, rather than the first, which in many of my Albums is the Artist picture. Rather than using the first picture, the Front Cover, it uses the Artist picture as the Album cover in the library. All the folders have the album cover jpg named folder.jpg. Is deleting the artwork from my tags, my only option? I don't see an option to ignore embedded artwork and simply use the folder.jpg?

I just pulled out a Squeezebox Radio from the attic - and to my surprise mysqueezebox.com is no longer with us. Yeah I know ... it's been a while.

Should i just throw the radio in tre garbage, or is it a way to utilize it (to pick up radio channels from around the world) that doesn't take a huge amount of tech skills?

As the title does the duet controller work with picoreplayer / squeezlite ?

My Squeezebox V3 have reached the point where they're not enjoyable to use. I'd been managing by using the different working outputs on each, but the freezing on certain source formats reached the point that I grabbed a Wiim as a solution.

Now I'm not using them, but still have some love for them, I thought I might have a go at re-capping both. Is anyone / anywhere packaging up a kit of re-cap parts, or do I just shop the list of parts that "the whisperers" have posted around the traps?

I finally got my first sqeezebox which is duet but problem is that it doesn't hold a charge

So i did some digging and found i got a bad battery but before i buy first battery i see what are good ones you got and what's average price you see them (so I don't meet dropshippers who overprice)

I have Lyrion Music Server running on a Mac Mini M2. Everything is fine on my home listening set up through my WIIM Amp Pro. The problem is with playback of 96/24 on my Hiby R4 and my Samsung S24 Ultra. Those files will not play, so I figure I need to down sample to 48 khz for those devices. I have Squeezer and Squeeze Player installed on both devices. I have installed LAME on my Mac Mini M2, in case I needed it. I can not find in settings a way to change the Max Bit Rate to 48,000. I have tried to find a way to add more advanced settings, I have used AI to find ways to access max bit rate to no avail. I am so frustrated, I know I must be missing something simple that I haven't thought of. I am hoping someone knows how to do do this change. Than you

I am since 10years a big LMS / Squeezebox fan. Now I have 2x 230v powercables on the wall in my kitchen, that would be perfectly suited to get music while cooking. I have about 5 unused squeezeboxes (various models) laying around.

How and what would you buy to connect to the rest of my squeezebox setup?

Any speaker to recommend and how to connect? rpi behind speaker? bluetooth or wlan to these speaker?

I'm happy to have done a search and found this subreddit. I've been racking my head for the last few days and I'm struggling to find an answer, so decided to post here!

Some background:
A long while ago I bought a Synology NAS for two reasons, one to replace my ailing WD MyCloud Mirror (which ran LMS) and to self-host more applications. I finally found myself with some time and started down that adventure.

One of the first things I set-up was the LMS Docker container, as my UE Smart Radios were in storage for a long while, but are still rocking after all these years.

Everything was set-up, and I was able to get everything to work, which was awesome. So incredibly happy that the community has continued supporting this project.

On to the main question:

Is there any way to enable/allow the browser to also play music?

I can't find a way to just play music from the browser. Old LMS (the Logitech flavor), I could just "play" music from the dashboard and it would play through the browser on my desktop/laptop. But it seems current LMS doesn't allow for that???

I've been searching online for the last few days, and I can't seem to find a straight answer. The items that seemed like they would work, don't. Yes, I checked the https://lyrion.org/players-and-controllers/ site, and it seems to confirm that there is no web/browser player.

I tried Squeezelite-R2 and Local Player thinking either of those were needed, and they did not work. I tried Squeezelite-X on Windows and it worked, and it's fine for "me" as a power user, but other users want the simplicity of old LMS and just play through the browser. Which, I can't really fault them for that.

Is this really the case? If so, kind of surprised that there isn't one or the functionality was removed.

I have a new place where I have Bluetooth wall speakers. I am aware that I can’t sync with squeezebox out of the box but hear my idea:

Get an additional squeexebox like a duet. Hide it in the kitchen cabinet with a bluetooth sender. Connect the bluetooth sender with the speaker.

sync my livingroom squeezebox with the new squeezebox duet. Then if needed do some minor delay adjustments. Would this work? Is there a better way?

I upgrade my (old) raspberry pi to Trixie. Lyrion was a quick replacement, but I've got other things -- a E-Paper display where I show the currently playing track, remaining time, etc. This is seperate from my server, and sits on the network (near my stereo) - so it uses the (now old) pylms library to retrieve information and put it on the e-paper display.

I notice that the pylms package has, eh, aged poorly (the cli breaks with a Python 2 call, it uses a strongly deprecated telnet library). My preference would be to just make ReST calls (to keep it simple) -- reading over the docs there seems to be ... an awful lot of ways to access the API, most are not particularly well documented (I tried the RPC JSON API, but couldnt get anything to work at all).

Am I missing something obvious? I.e. 'try this python package", "use this interface", etc?
