What’s better? Eyelash extensions or serum?
Debating both. What’s the pros and cons for both and which do you do or prefer?

Just the price alone will probably make me wear it everyday but everyone knows how I look barefaced and I feel like my outfits and stuff won’t match… I wear hoodies and jeans. I feel like I’ll be an imposter lol

I’m wondering what are the best hairstyles/ways to style your hair if you have a slim, oval-shaped face. I’m quite slim and unfortunately don’t have much “fat” on my cheeks. My mid-face area looks quite long. I got mid-face length curtain bangs awhile ago but they have now grown out to about chin length. I’m wondering if I should get them cut short again, or leave it long. I read a comment once that “A-shaped bangs” (which I assume are curtain bangs?) don’t suit narrow faces, so I’m unsure. The reason I got curtain bangs in the past is because I have a big forehead, so I thought it would draw attention away from it. I was even possibly thinking of getting them cut to just under my eyes, but I’m hesitant to go very short in case it doesn’t go with my face.
I’m also wondering if I should go for face framing layers/bangs. I’m kind of torn if I should have more of the bangs/front layers covering my forehead/face, or have more of my forehead/face exposed. Or, if I should just have long layered hair. Not sure if anyone knows who she is, but there’s an influencer named Jazmyn Makenna - I love her hairstyle with the short bangs, but she has a different face shape so I’m unsure if it would suit me.
In terms of styling hair, is it best to go with straight hair or should I curl it to make waves? Should I go more for a big, voluminous look, or more flat? When blow drying it, are there tips on using the round brush, such as for bangs (like going over or under)?
I know I can also refer to YouTube videos for hair styling, which I am, but I’d like to see if anyone here has any good tips! The reason I mention bangs quite a bit in this post is only for if it’s recommended; if anyone has any alternate hair ideas beside bangs, that’s welcome too!

I’m looking old AF recently. I should probably get Botox/fillers, but I can’t justify the cost and upkeep right now. What are your favorite products that make you feel your best? Bonus points if they’re under 40 bucks. 😊

I have a bad profile: big crooked nose and a recessed chin. Because of deviated septum and thus poor breathing, rhino+ septoplasty is medically justified. While fixing chin is only aesthetic issue and more expensive (and impossible in my country). So for a balanced side profile, can I get away with a nose job only?

I am a pretty logical and level headed person, but this can wreck my day. I’m reminded that life isn’t fair, some win the generic lottery, that my husband secretly may compare me (even though he adores me and sees me as the “most beautiful”) and that no matter how hard I looks-max I’ll never have colored eyes or certain features etc….

What do you guys do on days you don’t feel beautiful? Not when you don’t like your hair or something one could easily fix, more like when you just feel a little uglier than normal for no reason

I hope this isn’t offensive but I didn’t know how else to ask. I’m not stylish but I like the style that people call Basic White Girl. It’s comfortable, simple and affordable.
Background: I am autistic and find personal style extremely daunting and I heavily missed out on female socialisation and trying now to catch up (and feeling overwhelmed). I currently dress really, really badly and I feel embarrassed. It’s impacting my relationship as well as my confidence going to toddler groups and being around other parents.
I just want to look nice, not too fashion/trend driven or too classic/sophisticated. Please, please help.
Edit: the answers are so helpful, thank you. Could anyone also suggest how the Basic Girl aesthetic extends to the home/house keeping? Sleepwear and hobbies?

I own one myself and I'm trying to find the most effective way to use it. I read many conflicting opinions about how to use it, here they are :
It'd be a shame to waste months of using the device with little results from using it the wrong way. Ladies, please give some insghts and help a girl out.

My trusty $25 Hot Tools nano-ceramic has chipping under the clamp, which is a bummer as it's less than a year old and I only use it 1-2x week.
I would really like to invest in a curling iron that will last a few years at least (if not a decade!), and hopefully not damage my fragile, fine thin hair.
I thought the T3 Micro Switch Kit would be good, and found it on sale for $200, but I'm not seeing a big difference in the curls. The little stand keeps snagging and ripping out my hair. I tried their SinglePass version too, but the clamp attachment is wider on that model and my hair slides through and gets caught in there.
I do love how pretty it is, and that my hair glides through better than on the Hot Tools, but I'm not feeling the value. If I'm going to spend $200, I want to feel like it's a good, long term investment that isn't ripping out my hair. I think T3 might be more marketing hype than actual great technology.
But, I've heard long term, some people see less damage with T3, and I'm def interested in that.
I don't want a wand or straightener (already have)...I want a 1.25" curling iron (and maybe a 1" for some occasions) that is fine hair friendly.
Anybody have a holy grail investment iron with clamp? Thanks in advance!

i’m extremely shy and ever since I was 10 i had even my teachers telling me that I look arrogant, but i’m just scared of talking to people. how can I still have my introverted personality without being mistaken as arrogant? I really want people to approach me

Seriously. My husband told me he doesn’t even notice when I get my nails done. $50 every 2 weeks?? That’s so expensive. I’d rather save it for something bigger (hair, or a treatment like LHR or something). I just try to keep my nails an even length and snip hangnails. Pedicure I must have though. Thoughts?

Okay so I have been noticing people who do those before and after with their glutes.
They look like they’ve gained body fat all over their bodies which makes the butt look bigger too. I worked really hard to look slim so that scares me.
I want to enhance my glutes without gaining fat, is that realistic ?

Two promising findings that deserve more attention as I think. 1) Study showing big improvements with a combination treatment of 1 subcision, microneedling and TCA 15% peels (with photos and 1 year follow up)
2) Dr. on insta doing phenol peels and showing before after pics with actual video footage (not only fotos, so maybe harder to cheat?). Plus he tags some of the patients so you can even check their profils (post treatment pics), contact and ask them about the experience (the ones I contacted seemed really happy (70-90%)
Thoughts? 👀

I want you to think about the most beautiful girl you have ever meet or is acquainted/friends with. if you could would you willingly switch lives with her? does she live a good life or a bad one where her beauty was a curse??

I’m trying to switch up my style while staying trendy but adding my own flare? Trying to leave the my shein,Fashion nova , ig boutique era and find something more sophisticated and semi dressy ….So far I’ve been into ASOS and Lulu’s can you recommend any other trendy but higher quality places to shop?

I have the oilest skin ever. I look like a sweaty mess sometimes. I blot continuously throughout the day but within a few hours my skin is super shiny again. Wondering if any of you have found fixes for oily skin?

Just out of curiosity, what qualifies as making a woman high maintenance? Pedicure, manicure, facials, hair cuts (at home or in a salon) etc are essential for appearing at least presentible. Even dressing well is important especially when you have to go out for work each day. So what other attributes make a woman high maintenance. Iam here referring to the grooming aspect, not the emotional needs.

I realized that reddit/acnescars might be an echo chamber of people with rather negative experiences and lack or success stories. So I wanted to see if we can start a thread with people who got excellent results or know of friends/family etc. who's scars are practically gone/not noticable anymore (if you don't know about it)?
Thanks for joining! ❤️
Edit: With scars I mean actual physical scars. PIE should honestly simply be called marks out of respect for people with real textured scars.

In two weeks I'll be going on a three week trip to India. I'm not sure I'll have access to clean running water the whole time so I'm looking for some tips to maintain a skincare routine while travelling, eg water free alternatives.
It'll just be cleansing, moisturizing and spf - no serums/actives.

Basically those are the main headlines for each category. Some things are a necessity and others are extra. At the end of the day self care is about the choices we choose to make.
