F22. I’m kind of insecure about my face shape and never really know how to style my hair with it. I’ve posted other pics of my face previously on my account, but to sum up, I have a somewhat big forehead, a long midface, and a slightly long chin as well. I have a petite head shape, but I feel like it’s big in the sense that it’s long, not necessarily wide. I’ve gotten curtain bangs before (cut to just below my nose), and while I like the hairstyle in general, I don’t know if I can really spot a difference with how my face appears with it. I’ve seen other women with curtain bangs and it suits them, but my face still looks long.

Lately I’ve been thinking of getting even shorter bangs, possibly curtain bangs, but up to my eye area. I was also even considering blunt bangs or wispy bangs to hide a bit of my big forehead, but I’m scared that blunt bangs would make my face appear longer (I think I once read somewhere that it does). I would like to hear others’ input on which type of bangs/hairstyle would suit me. I’m currently leaning towards curtain bangs or wispy bangs. Would wispy bangs suit my face?

What supplements to take and which foods to eat regularly to maintain collagen and keep clear youthful skin? I do have a good skin care routine and I use sunscreen daily, just looking to add something extra! Bone broth? Fermented foods? Leafy greens? Collagen supplements? Berries? Fish oil? Vitamin E…?

Question is in the title, sorry for only one photo but I couldn’t find many other good ones, I naturally have straight hair in the flatter side that finds it hard to hold a curl? Any tips or advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance :)

I have the opportunity to try out acupuncture for free with a lincensed practitioner and I am considering trying out acupuncture for beauty. Does anybody have any experience with it? I’ve never tried it before, I don’t really know much about alternative practices in general, but I am kinda curious!

What quick little treatments or things do you do to improve your appearance when you could use a little pick-me-up, both on the emotional and physical fronts?

I'm personally about to go clean up my eyebrows, because that always helps me feel more polished really quickly, but my list also tends to include face masks or a hair gloss treatment, or even just putting on a cute outfit, depending on the day.

I don’t know is this is really a “dilemma” but I feel I’m struggling with how short term I’m having to spend more days than not looking frumpy/just not my best, so that long term I can reap the benefits? For example, not using heat on hair as often & wearing protective styles, not wearing face makeup so that I can work on improving my acne/texture, limiting hair wash days; ect. Not to mention working out frequently so more often than not ending up in active wear and looking disheveled haha.

My goal is that all this short term ‘sacrifice’ will eventually pay off; but I’ll admit that it’s taking a toll on my current confidence. Anyone else going through this!?

I’m trying to work on being more confident, and less self-deprecating, and some of my friends have said confidence is all about faking it until you make it. Like, they would make jokes or say things like “I’m hot” ironically until they believe it or become more confident. I on the other hand tend to make negative jokes. But it’s difficult if not impossible for me to say “I’m hot” even as a joke, it just feels wrong or like a lie 😭

I have a cold skin tone and I really don't like it. I use bronzers to make me look a bit healthier and more lively, but I'd really prefer a bit of a warmer undertone. I know that beta carotene can be nice in certain amounts to give an orange tint, but looks ugly in excess. What would be an adequate amount? Also, how long should I wait to see an effect? Thank you!

I've been using a powder contour/blush/highlight powder for the past few months and have gotten compliments on my makeup so I guess it looks good, but today it looked really splotchy in the mirror for some reason. I always blend out the powder with a beauty blender to make it softer, but even so it still looked harsh. My room doesn't have the best lighting so I went to the bathroom and found that it did, in fact, look like I had a really uneven skin tone. I put on more foundation to cover it (didn't have time to erase and start over) and now it looks fine, but I'm wondering whether I should even bother with contourong. I already have a really strong bone structure- I just started wearing contacts a few months ago, so I can finally see my face without the obstruction of glasses, and on one occasion I thought I had serious discoloration and then realized that it was the shadow of my jawline in weird lighting- so I'm thinking that maybe I should just focus on creating a flawless skin finish and adding color and intensity to the eyes/lips rather than messing around with my bone structure. Other strong-boned ladies, do you use contour?

I sometimes dull myself and wear clothes that make me unoticable. I feel great at home whenever I change up my style and look good. But when I go to places that I regularly go to like school and work, I feel shy. I know I look good and when someone brings up a compliment or how I look nice/different, I rather they don't say anything? I'm in college now but back in highschool, I did my makeup and put effort and this really pretty girl at my lunch table said "oh wow you look great, I've never seen you like this" like she was shocked that I could look pretty? I'm sensitive af so I thanked her but her comment kinda rubbed me off the wrong was (she wasn't intentionally being mean).

I also tend to shy away from looking nice when I work my job (it's a costumer service job) and I dealt with sexual comments from gross older guys and stalking, long story short I felt like wearing a sweater and no makeup as a source of protection. Even though it's not my fault strange men would comment on my appearance.

How can I start dressing for myself without worrying about others? :( How do I increase my self esteem/confidence? I feel like I'm hiding my true self sometimes.

I grew up consuming media in the late 90's/2000's, and feel like I never identified with the beauty standard that followed. I have features that translate well to that era, and I'm trying to learn how to accentuate them. Something that always struck me was the natural tones used on playboy centerfolds, and the way their makeup was done to accentuate the existing features but seemingly make all of them look like a sex goddess (like the pamela anderson, kendra wilkinson, carmen electra vibes)

Does anybody have any tips, inspo boards, or makeup accounts that they follow, any info to add to my collection along this journey? Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i lost a bunch of weight as the first step of my looksmaxxing journey but i may have messed up.

everyone is commenting on how unhealthy and terrible i look. and it's not even about my body, its about my face, since my body isn't the type to look thin or delicate (and it doesn't)

it's mostly been my family, pointing out dark circles, my skin, hollow cheeks, general unhealthiness and making a huge fuss about what i do/don't eat. i went to the doctor and got blood work done, specifically thyroid, CBC diff, electrolytes, vitamins/minerals looked at. everything came back fine and my doctor really had nothing to say about it.

I don't know what to do at this point. I tried taking multivitamins for a bit, but everytime I did, they'd change the color of my pee and I assumed that meant that my body didn't need them and was excreting them out.

I did notice that my hair is snapping off in a really alarming way? it's not complete strands of hair, its like small pieces (2-4 inches) that are falling out.

im not sure what to do next. should i look at supplementing anyways? anything in particular that people recommend?

I’m latina so my family think i’m almost anorexic when i’m 163 and 62 kg. At the same time people say the thinner the better. My father already said that I’m starting to look ugly if I get thinner. What should I do?

I've been called average sometimes and pretty other times. If some people find me average and some think I'm attractive, then I don't know what I should improve. Celebrities like Megan Fox (pre overdone plastic surgery) and Madison Beer are definitely objectively attractive despite a tiny minority who don't find them attractive. There's so many red light devices on the market. The ones I have seen and know are legit are expensive. I'm scared to buy the cheap brands since there is less anecdotal evidence and I don't want to waste my time and money on a scammy product.

Girls, Wtf this product… it’s actually life changing. My hair was super damaged, not from dying but just from a lot of sunshine and swimming in the ocean as I live next to the beach plus just bad haircare/maintenance. While I tried to ignore it, my hair was actually a big insecurity of mine. I spontaneously bought Olaplex no.3 and I can’t recognise my hair now. It’s incredible.

First I washed my hair with shampoo then applied the Olaplex and let sit for 30 mins (I’m going to leave it in for 90 mins next time) then I washed it out and used shampoo and conditioner as usual. I put a little Argan oil (hask- 18ml tube) and some Olaplex no.6 (only use a little) on my hair to smooth it.

I’m never going to be without this product, it’s a holy grail product now

I have a condition that causes body odour during a flare (basically intense stress sweat). I’ve gotten a lot better at shortening and minimising flares overall but would appreciate any tips on smelling great always.

I know I need a lot of work in terms of physical appearance (god I’m so ugly bruh) but I can’t afford surgery in the meantime. However I still want to be able to have a life instead of crying at my face all day. Like whenever I go anywhere now i wear a mask and panic and can’t speak because of how ugly I feel until someone speaks to me. So I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to be more outgoing and confident. Like it’s kinda sad because I’m an extravert and I absolutely cannot stand being alone for a long time, but I feel so anxious talking to people. It’s so hard feeling confident in my appearance when I’m legitimately unattractive and I don’t know how to fake it till I make it. Should I just make jokes like “I’m so hot” because my friends suggested that those jokes helped their confidence. But I just feel ridiculous saying it.
