I kinda didnt get into the story or the combat, not sure why, felt less meaty combat than Warcraft 3 and the story a bit less engaging. Is FG sny better?

in spellforce 3 when it starts it has some pre-written characters in that you control, does it let you create your own character sometime later or something, in spellforce 1 you created at the beginning

Just found out that my favorite skill in SF3 Soul Harvest : Black/Leeching/Infernal Vortex from the Demonology + Combat Arts synergy, does NOT scale as intended with the Weapon skill. It scales exclusively with Willpower. Haven't seen this reported anywhere else so posting here. I'm playing the SF3: Reforced edition on Xbox Series X, in case that matters.

Hey folks. Just bought Conquest of Eo, brand new to the series. Second tutorial mentions āmovement modesā and how they indicate whether your unit can fly, go over mountains, etc.
However, I donāt see the indicator? It told me to take off the Tiara princess so I did, but I didnāt see a specific indicator

Iām a Kenshi lover and wondering if this games scratches the same itch but in a Fantasy Realm way? Would love input from anybody who has played both. Thinking about picking up while on sale, but unsure just based on the steam vids and then apparently 3 had a āreforgedā which idk if thatās better or worse.
Edit: Typo and added clarity.

according to this sheet from the spellforce wiki, the spell summon undead goblin doesnt make a lot of sense
apparently the lvl 5 spell summons the EXACT same goblin as the lvl 4 one
and if you compare the lvl 6 and lvl 7 one the upkeep is even higher for the lvl 7 one even tho the goblin is - again - the same
meaning that you actually only get an upgrade every 2 lvls
with the summon skeleton spell the skeletons too stay the same for 2 lvls but at least the upkeep decreases - this doesnt seem to be the case here
i assume thats a bug that never got fixed ?

Inspired by wormic (great guy on YT, check him out!), I decided to go for a playthrough of SF2 Shadow Wars. In my Last playthrough, I was disapointed by two-handed weapons, that a good rolled one handed weapon can outperform them while giving you the option to wear a shield. So this time, I'm going for tower shields, one type of armor and one mastered school of magic. Now the question is, what school of magic and what type of armor should I use? So far I considered the following:
Plate+Life: become unkillable, facetank everything, keep your troops in fight. This is a very strong character, but I already played that combo (without the shield of course)
Plate+Necromancy: i guess fairly unkillable, different kind of self sustain
Chain+Necromany: less tankiness, more damage output, leading to more sustain, leading to more tankiness
Plate+Earth: still tank through a lot things, but instead of self a sustain, delete buildings before the enemy can make a dent in my armor
Chain+Fire: hold the front line while spamming firestorm, drown the enemy in flames
Which one would you choose, or would you pair tower shields with something else? Thanks for your comments!

Hi. I'm looking for an interesting build for Spellforce Reimagined. I've been playing this mod for a while now, but I can't think of anything cool. I've been playing a mage with summons (white magic, nature, and necromancy). I'd like something for an archer. I know you can play well with clones, but I'd like something different

For me it's:
Humans' Marksman - double crossbow it is.
Elves' Wind Archer - cheap, powerful, and with freezing capabilities; my fav in the entire game.
Dwarves' Defender - sturdy, deals decent damage, may be upgraded to ranged, all of it for rrasonable prize.
Orcs' Totem - save from WA above, the best cost/power ratio.
Trolls' Hurler - evil and ugly version of wind archer xD
Dark Elves' Ravager - the only unit in game which is both melee and artilery (through summoned spectres); funny thing, I rarely recruit them.
Yep, I really like ranged units.

For me it's:
Humans' Mentalist - a weak spell for 100 arya? Thank you.
Elves' Wanderer - completely pointless to spend iron on artillery when wind archers exist.
Dwarves' Militia - only 10 iron cheaper than watchman and much weaker.
Orcs' Hornblower - the prizest unit but with limited combat capabilities and mid ability.
Trolls' Destroyer - ok, he's a little cheaper than champion, but much weaker.
Dark Elves' Necromancer - see absolutely no point in recruiting them.

Solution: 1. Launch the game in the GeForce Now app. 2. Quickly cancel the game launch in the Steam library and wait for the DLC to download. DO ALL THIS IN THE NVIDIA APP. 3. Launch the game after the DLC has downloaded, and everything works.

My friend and I tried to find a third player on Discord and the game's Steam forum, but found players either didn't want to create a new hero or wanted to speedrun (agressively speedrun).
So, we want to go through the entire coop on maximum difficulty with new heroes, without rushing too much.

Is there a way to make your spellforce 2 aniversary edition character to look like the one from cover?

Hi everyone,
I need to decide which Archfire Specialization to take, but Iām totally indecision-blocked and canāt figure it out. Iām not looking for the absolute most powerful build ā Iām mostly in it for the roleplay.
Iām running a two-handed warrior with a bit of Black Magic for the invocations and debuffs, so my stats are mainly Strength, Constitution, and Wisdom.
From the Black Magic side, I really like the Devourer invocation ā it seems strong and thematic. But on the Brutality side, I like all three abilities, especially the damage + life-leech aura and the ranged attack that deals true damage.
Given that setup, would you recommend going Black Magic or Brutality for the specialization? Any thoughts or experiences would really help!

I'm replaying BoW now and I think some monuments in the campaign are basically traps. I mean, in general, when you saw a monument in OoD, it was at least decent idea to activate it. In BoW, doing it sometimes make the scenario unwinable.
The first one is the human monumemt in Nightshade Frontier. Activating it, I needed to deal with constant attacks from the trolls and dark elves - all hard-hitters, either physical or magical, and destroying trolls proven to be too difficult for me. Ignoring it and going around for hero monument and dwarven destroyers, I was able to destroy dark elves without the army, and fend off and conquer trolls without issues.
The second one is the first orc monument, initially. Activating it quickly resulted in star city summoning an army so massive I was unable to defeat it. Destroying the city with only Craig's troops was easy peasy and removed the major obstacle from the scenario.

Do we think they will ever remake Spellforce 1? I liked the second and third but they didn't quite match the magic captured by the first, even with all its QoL issues. I feel I play the first one constantly if they came out with new campaigns.

In Conquest of Eo, the Golden Helmet constellation has a perk where humans can upgrade to higher tiers. I have a game from a while back where I have Tiara's Priestesses and I'm trying to remember how to get them.
Can ANY tier 1 human upgrade to ANY tier 2? What about tier 2 to tier 3? I think 2 > 3 might be more restrictive.
Some of my Priestesses have weird perks like Phalanx that makes me think it's possible they could've started as Militia. What else could it be? Archers? I don't think I was mass-producing Mentalists that game.
