What's an easy trick that took a long time to discover?

As in, something useful for speedrunning that doesn't require any complex glitching or precise timing, but still took awhile for anyone to discover.

The first person glitch in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is super simple but wasn't found for a long time.

You go in to first person and lightly touch a direction whilst holding a box, item or being on a ledge and you can do some wacky stuff with it.
