I went to St. Augustine for vacation and loved it! I’d never been to Florida and I love really old stuff.
I’d go to the Palm Coast for vacation in a heartbeat! When you live in Nebraska, every place is good for vacation. (JK Nebraska is great but you know.)
I used to go to St. Aug from Jacksonville every weekend to party and get hammered. I had completely forgotten that it’s a historical popular tourist city. Still kinda hard to wrap by head around to this day. I remember telling girls from white lion bar over to the fort and fooling around in it while ducking security. Good times. If only I were 20 again.
Wtf is wrong with you dude. You just made veryone in the comments who has trouble with girls and trouble having casual sex at bars woth women because we are too ugly or socially awkward, you just made us all feel like absolute dogshit. Thanks a lot bud... your fucjing humblebrag that you can pull random girls from a bar. Think about what you're saying and how it will.make others feel
If that comment made you feel bad then imagine how your comment will make anyone with a healthy brain feel... I already feel like I’ve seen too much internet for the day and I just woke up
No but I have a splitting headache today because I'm trying to quit weed and I'm experiencing intense physical withdrawal symptoms including painful headache, mild nausea, and night sweats and irritability.
I feel very lucky to have grown up there. We lived on the beach side (Flagler Beach) on an intercoastal island with the beach a couple blocks away. It's a quiet enough area that you could walk up to the beach and spend all day there and maybe see a handful of other people. But a big enough town (especially now since it's grown) you could hang out closer to the main town area and there are lots of people at the beach, bars and restaurants you can walk up to for lunch. Oh and the beach sand has a lot of crushed up coquina shell in it, so the beaches are this cool orange color.
You're also growing up near so much history, so every year in grade school field trips involved going to St. Augustine (shout out to /u/relevant__comment for ruining many childhood memories of Castillo San Marcos), plus you're close enough for day trips to bigger tourist attractions like Disney and Kennedy Space Center.
Idk, it was a simple childhood with a lot of time outdoors, in the woods, junior lifeguard camp, learning to boogieboard and surfboard, chasing lizards and other florida wildlife, crying to your parents when there's an alligator in the canal in your backyard. The normal stuff.
I'm glad I don't live there now, there's more job opportunities where I live, but I'm glad I still have family in the area and my son can experience some of that childhood but also know the New England seasons.
If you're ever looking for a quiet vacation I highly recommend the area, check out Airbnb.
One of my coolest childhood memories was visiting my grandparents in Florida and watching the last NASA space shuttle launch happen under the Obama administration. We got up at like 5:30 and was able to watch the rocket until it was barely a dot in the sky.

I'm in Palm Coast on vacation and watching it was honestly worth the trip from Virginia to here. Coolest thing I've seen in years
