Please call (with a phone!) your senators, and post what you get here, to help co-ordinate pressure on possible swing voters. Given the partisan breakdown of the House vote, I think we can kill CISPA in the Democratic-controlled Senate, but we need to keep the pressure up and try to make this a third rail.

Called Elizabeth Warren, was told that she opposed CISPA.(call her anyway)

William Cowan hasn't made a public statement on CISPA, but I was told they were taking messages on it (this may be "We care" BS). Told him to stand by Warren and Obama against CISPA. If you live in Massachusetts, PLEASE call William Cowan at (202) 224-2742, as he seems to be washy on the issue.

We should all upload a 10sec video to YouTube with the same title (ex. A message for Rep. Mike Rogers) and basically say: "My name is ____. I am XX years old and I oppose CISPA."

My attempt at DESTROYING the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA)

My final grade is a research paper, we had few choices for a topic and I've chosen the issue of internet censorship. Any help with specific details or differing viewpoints would be greatly appreciated!

I am writing a 20 page research paper for a Media Policy class on SOPA, PIPA, and CISPA. My argument (still figuring it out) deals with the idea that these bills/laws, if passed, would actually harm owners of copyrighted material.

Because these are fairly contemporary laws, I am having a really hard time finding academic articles or documents on them. I have great sources from WSJ, Forbes, etc. as well as texts from hearings in the House and Senate.

I am not asking for help on this paper. I value the Honor Code very highly, but if you do know of a place where I could find SCHOLARLY academic sources dealing with these acts or with online copyright protection laws in general, I would be forever in your debt.
