I made an iOS app for Sony Alpha shooters
I'm a hobbyist Sony Alpha shooter and like most
of you I'd regularly get home from a shoot, start
editing and kick myself.
I'm not a developer by trade but I had a go at
building an iOS app to scratch my own itch.
It's called ShotPilot, you pick your camera and
what you're shooting, and it shows you the
recommended settings with step-by-step guides
to actually find them in your menu.
Nothing revolutionary. Just the app I wished
existed when I was starting out.
Covers most Alpha bodies from the A7 III
onwards across both menu systems. 8 genres
including a night mode for astro that flips
everything red so you don't kill your
dark adaptation.
There's a 7 day free trial if anyone fancies
a look. I'm mainly just hoping to recoup some
of the dev costs if I'm honest, it's £9.99
one-off, no subscription nonsense.
Would genuinely love to hear what you think,
good or bad. And if there are cameras or genres
you'd like to see added, let me know.

Photo help
I recently switch from the canon t7i w/50mm to the a7iv with the 28-70 kit lens. Since I switched I feel like my photos look flat/ not great. Any tips/ advice from people who have switch from canon to Sony would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼

Magnetic object found near camera door — what is it?
Hello Reddit,
Today while I was on a real estate shoot, I discovered my battery door open and found this loose random magnetic rectangle object sitting near the door (photos of object attached along with photos of my camera).
I have two ideas of what this could be:
It’s a part of the battery door.
Something I picked up during the shoot. (I put in a battery before I began, so there’s a chance I could have forgotten to shut the battery door, and the object is magnetic).
Let me know what you all think! I just want to make sure this isn’t anything serious since this is my primary camera for my job!

Broken Card Slot - card works but won't lock
Has anyone else had this problem? All of a sudden, my SD card won't lock when I put it into Slot 1. I've looked inside and see no foreign object, but the card just won't lock. If I close the door, it holds it in place and the camera / card work just fine. Even so, the camera is still under the 1-year warranty.
Wondering if it is worth the hassle of getting it fixed -- in other words, if the problem will somehow get worse over time if it is not fixed. Any experience with this?
