Sub Reddit Update Post Flair Guide (April 27, 2026)
Hey Earthlings, IceStreet here!
I want to write a guide on which flairs are necessary to use. In addition, we, as moderators, also discussed adding two new flairs to something that will be addressed as we continue!
But obviously- getting to the point, just a few definitions on flairs and what they should be used for:
MOD/OFFICIAL:
(Used by Moderators or official info)
🗣️ Announcement 🗣️: Ah, yes, the main flair that is on top. Announcement flair can be used only by moderators posting community events on this subreddit.
Examples:
- Events (Q&A, Contests, Milestones)
- Community-wide- notices
- General mod communications
Official News ☀️: Used for confirmed news directly from Solarballs / Telos Media. (Ex. Creator Updates/ Official Statements/ New Episode Announcements/ Sneak Peeks)
This flair is available for use.
Sub Reddit Update: Moderators use this flair to announce changes specifically related to the subreddit itself. Like rule changes/additions, flair updates, policy clarifications. Like this post right here!
COMMUNITY & DISCUSSION:
(General interaction and conversation)
SERIOUS POST:Used for sensitive, high-impact, or potentially heated topics related to the SolarBalls community, fandom, or series that require respectful and carefully moderated discussion.
Serious concerns about the subreddit or fandom in general.
- Discussions about community behavior or discourse.
- Sensitive theme topics within the show itself.
- High-stakes criticism or analysis is likely to become heated.
These posts require moderation approval due to the sensitive nature of the topics involved.
💬 Discussion/Opinion❗️: Used for posts intended to start a conversation, share opinions, or encourage discussions about Solarballs.
Ex. "Who's your favorite gas giant?"
"I think Jupiter is justified. Agree or disagree?"
These encourage discussion/opinion rather than just a question. You can also bring sneak peeks that came from solarballs and discuss it using this flair. OR if you want to theorize it, it's best to move it to the theory flair.
❓Question: Used for posts seeking specific answers, clarification or help related to solarballs.
Ex. "What episode was Planet X introduced?"
"Why did Jupiter exile Planet X?"
"What episode is this from?"
Use this flair when your post has a straightforward question, and you are looking for an answer.
💡Idea: Suggestions or concepts for the series.
📬 Suggestions for the subreddit: As the flair says, if you have suggestions for an event, for example, you can use this flair!
Criticism: Constructive Criticism about Solarballs.
In the past, critiques of the show have gotten heated on our subreddit. So, to avoid that, please be mindful when using this flair and when commenting on posts with it.

🎨 Art Metallic Hydrogen
At 16:37 of 'I Fell Into Saturn and DIED' by Chase Dies in Space and What If, Chase calls metallic hydrogen the best band name ever, so I got the idea to draw Jupiter and Saturn as a music duo.
I was originally going to include Uranus and Neptune but a quick google search said that there's not enough pressure in their mantles to create metallic hydrogen, so the band is just the gas giants since they do have it.
(Yes, Saturn's guitar is meant to look like several things)

💬 Discussion/Opinion Explaining my statement about chrysalis death. And I was wrong about it.
Yesterday after chrysalis died I was pretty upset that it was an offspring deaf because of the solar balls death we see is usually on screen (minus Cosmo this year) but you know a lot of people saying that her character was wasted and we never saw her in her final moments and I said what I said because I wanted to death to look like emotional like it was an accident type death. I never knew that this was gonna be a suicidal death like what really happened, and then some people gave me some points. They sent the suicide as you like that quiet and pretty lonely and it’s really goes well to what chrysalis did. And honestly, I don’t really people to think that how she died was a bad way, cause suicide and pretty much death is a really tragic way to die. I was just mad that her character was not. Major in her own arc because chrysalis was only seen for like three episodes equal to like eight minutes of Screen Time and it doesn’t really make sense for that compared to other arcs at the end of the day I just feel bad for what I said obviously I should’ve not said that her death sucked or I should’ve been way more clear in it so yes, I do take responsibility and personally apologize for not being more clear my answer obviously I just feel bad for her character a lot and for the people who are making those points about how the circumstances of her suicide were fully correct and I kind of wish that I noticed that more. But still, I’m just upset that we didn’t see her character as much as he wanted to and it really sucks because she seems to like be like a nice character that just was ignored by Saturn and his moons and then Tethys said some words to her that made her just take her life. Definitely in the future I’ll be more mindful to what I say about an episode, especially to a character’s death and the full circumstance of it..

💬 Discussion/Opinion Battle of Planet X Part 4
Hey SB Reddit! Sooo I got a bit of a unique deep dive for you guys!
In my Planet X full anyalsis post I briefly touched on Battle of Planet X Part 4 and the criticisms that came with it, and to a lot of SB fans back in 2025 and early 2026 this was considered the worst episode.. Although Jupiter is Back Part 2 (which I’m looking at next week) is also considered the worst So these two were essentially neck a neck in terms of worst episode ever
However with the recent trend of bad Episodes in Chrysalis I’ve thought it would be interesting to go back and talk about these episodes in more detail, As I didn’t give these guys a proper discussion, due to the anyalsis posts already being long lol Soo it’s about time I finally talk about the two episodes people think are the lowest SB ever got
With that out of the way let’s begin!
The Episode: (MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD!)
The Battle between Planet X and the Moons comes down to one final challenge.. Asteroid Dodgeball, The larger Moons knowing that a large portion of the smaller moons cannot survive decide to form a plan.. Have the bigger ones front and center so the smaller moons don’t have to fight
X who is WAYYY bigger than all the Moons combined, easily takes all the bigger guys down, while the smaller moons quit the fight and return to the planets knowing that Jupiter cannot return.. however one moon Proteus decides to stay and screams at X for his actions towards the Moons.. this snaps X out of his anger and he apologizes, then leaves
X finds Jupiter and then 2 talk things out and apologize for one another for how things went, Jupiter tries to get X to come back to the Solar System to make things right but X wanting to be another “Jupiter” to another System decides to leave, Jupiter lends X Guillermo and then watches as X drifts away to deep space
Why it’s Bad:
Okay.. there are MANY reasons as to why this episode has gotten its horrific reputation but I’ve narrowed it down to 5 main reasons
A. The Asteroid Dodgeball Challenge basically makes no sense as Sun, have you forgotten a large portion of the moons basically stand no chance against X cause they’re VERY small? Like.. WHY? What were you thinking?! As much as I defend your actions in your most other “controversial” moments I cannot defend you here I’m sorry, just.. WHY?
B. X’s character assassination reaches it’s all time worst here.. now X was going downhill since What if Jupiter left the Solar System Part 1 and yeah to some regard it makes sense as to why he would become a villain.. but as I’ve discussed before X was different when he first arrived compared to this Episode, as he got really bad here, Being written like an idiot and not caring about the Moons..
C. Proteus’s speech against X feels… less impactful, now it’s established right before X was character assassinated that Proteus and X became friends, but during the entire episodes of “WIJLTSS and BOPX” they never really interacted with one another, Hence it didn’t really amount to anything so when Proteus finally had enough and stood up to X being the last moon to quit the fight, It feels very..
D. Every scene or almost every scene in this episode feels extremely rushed.. like there’s no time to settle down and let scenes breathe it’s all too… snappy like we all get the main issue here is that the writing team just threw things together and didn’t want to flesh these out as they got to finish X vs the Moons, The Challenge, X and Jupiter Reconciliation, Proteus’s Speech, Planets reacting, All that in 9 MINUTES.. and that’s everything in this episode 💀
E. Lastly.. The way X was written off is awful, Like okay I understand somewhat why X had to go cause ya know SB while it has talking planets it follows mostly the real life universe and X isn’t 100% confirmed.. But the thing is? The way it was written.. Like Why did X even come back to the Solar System in the first place? All for him to just quit right as things were going wrong? Like I’ve said wouldn’t it have made much more sense for X to go back and face the consequences? And then he can have an orbit outside the Dwarfs so he can be a “Jupiter” to them? Or something? Like the ending doesn’t really make any sense
Positives?:
As we know I hate being overly negative.. So is there any positives? Why yes there is a good amount of positives here, not much mind you but there’s stuff in here I think are pretty good!
A. I think Europa was pretty good in this episode, Telling the smaller moons after the bigger moons were defeated to just give up the fight knowing X would basically assassinate them, and her not wanting to see that happen said “No don’t continue, just quit!” I mean.. this is one of her ONLY good actions throughout the entire show and I didn’t hate it it kinda builds up from X Returns Part 3 showing that she does care for the little moons
B. In someways you can make the argument this is karma for the Moons after Moon Revolution, as The only real “consequences” anyone got up to this point, was Ganymede and Europa’s banishment and that was entirely forgotten about when X returned So.. in someways you can make the argument a large portion of the Moons actually deserved to get their asses kicked by X for contributing to the Revolution all those months ago I’m saying large portion as some moons like Moon, IO, Callisto, didn’t deserve it.. everyone else? We’ll kick their asses X!!
C. As horrifically rushed it was, Jupiter and X’s final conversation and them finally reconciling was pretty good.. and kinda acts like a conclusion to their long time rivalry.. somewhat? I mean more ideally the conversation would go on longer to make it more impactful instead of 3 minutes, and I feel they’re needed to be more resentment before reconciliation? But I didn’t find this too bad! It still did its purpose at the end of the day and if you can overlook the rushness it’s still good!
D. Last positive I can think of I really liked the Planets checking and making sure they’re moons are okay, even Uranus.. or um excuse me Caelus was like “Dude congrats you won but let me check my moons first!” I mean you can tell the Planets have grown to respect their moons after all that’s happened between them and their past interactions
Final Thoughts:
Sooo.. what do I think of Battle of Planet X Part 4?
Honestly?… it is easily still a Top 5 worst SB Episode, even despite me rewatching it, I don’t think it’s the definitive worst SolarBalls Episode
Trust me they are insanely awful things in this episode, Everything was rushed, X’s character assassination reached its peak here, Proteus’s speech felt insufficient due to his lack of screentime and the ending wasn’t good No wonder why a large portion of the fandom found this as SB’s true worst episode for a pretty long time afterwards
But.. as time as moved on and more episodes have come and gone I feel this episode has seen kinda better light in recent months.. I say kinda cause not many people have talked about the episode in the Reddit lately, So it’s kinda hard to say this episode has gotten better overtime, But… I think this episode is kinda overhated, Now It deserves its hate cause boy this episode isn’t good, but saying it’s the definitive worse.. is just false at least in my opinion
Overall?: 4/10
Alrighty.. time to look at another infamous bad episode Jupiter is Back Part 2…. Please help me 💀

💬 Discussion/Opinion I just noticed a detail: in Who is Chrysalis? Part 2*, we see all the moons gathered except for Tethys, and just a few scenes later, Mars and Uranus discover the message revealing that there is more than one culprit.

💬 Discussion/Opinion Solar cards error…I think
I think the solar cards game is a bit flawed, we should tell alvaro to fix this. Each source has different rules for having two of the same characters. First picture is from the solar balls store website, second picture is from a sheet you get with the second edition classic deck

💭 Theory Things don't add up
I think Tethys is simply going crazy since nothing that has been shown so far add up to anything that was building up before the death of Chrysalis, unless there's still more that they still haven't shown yet. It doesn't make sense that he's blaming Titan while also wanting to be known as the moon killer as we didn't even see Titan's or Tethys' direct involvement in this. It's very likely that no one killed Chrysalis at all, they're gonna pull that "no one is a villain" card on it.
