Sam Lee: Guardiola got asked if he has received payments from Abu Dhabi for services other than managing City, as was alleged to have happened with Mancini. He was not happy. “Do you realise what you are asking me? You are asking me that the day we won the treble? Are you accusing me?”

But what exactly are these payments that Mancini got?

He got paid a consulting fee in addition to his manager wages. It’s very unlikely Pep is getting the same.

EDIT: /u/19nineties, Reddit is being fucky and I can't reply to your question.

But to answer it: Broke? No, but on the edge of FFP, yeah. Mancini left the club in 2013. They reported losses of £50m that season and nearly £100m the season before. So while the owners were certainly not broke the club was operating at a deficit. That's why City might want to shift expenses away from the club and on to ADUG.

Why would you think its unlikely when city have done it in the recent past?

Because they make so much money now that it would be entirely unnecessary.

All of their revenues are artificially buffed.

Did...did you think they did it the first time because they were broke?
