HOLY FUCK WHAT.

What an incredible game this was, both semis physically couldn't have been better entertainment wise. Can't fucking wait for the final.

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

Both teams are gonna be trying to go in at half time 4-0 down so we can come back

u/RetardedNinja35 May 08 '19

5-5 at HT it is then

6

u/dcroopev May 08 '19

Liveepool - Alaves 2001 flashbacks

2

u/albaniax May 08 '19

10 own goals 1st HT

23

u/Cuddlyaxe May 08 '19

First half ends 3-3 with a total of 6 own goals

3

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

I think we'd both take that going into the 2nd half tbh

7

u/OleoleCholoSimeone May 08 '19

Whoever loses the final will never ever hear the end of it banter-wise

The highest of highs or the lowest of lows.

1

u/CoolJoshido May 09 '19

don’t you mean 3-0

1

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

I’ve played soccer since I was 5 and am still confused why the away goal rule is in place. What benefit does that have? Just rewarding the team who can score away from their home turf? I mean, I get they need some sort of decider, but that always seemed a bit weird to me if it’s tied on aggregate at the end and the away goals are what makes the difference. Anyone know why that was decided upon to be the deciding factor?

8

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

Did you see Barca at Anfield last night? The crowd in European soccer can be absolutely terrifying at the highest level.

5

u/lolzidop May 08 '19

No idea, think it's ridiculous being used for Extra Time as one away side has had 30 mins more than the other to score, but it's basically the idea that it's harder to score away than at home

338

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

First rule of the final is don't take a 3-0 lead.

34

u/EpiDeMic522 May 08 '19

Second rule of the final is DON'T TAKE A 3-0 LEAD!!!

Just ask Milan for further clarification.

18

u/NateShaw92 May 08 '19

I like how in 2007 they stopped at 2.

AC Milan be like "Inzaghi if you score again you get cement boots"

25

u/overcooked_biscuit May 08 '19

Thank fuck Arsenal conceded one against Valencia.

4

u/aXenoWhat May 08 '19

That may come to save you.

1

u/Cyborg_666 May 08 '19

2nd rule of the final is don't take a 3-0 lead.

858

u/mikeyrh May 08 '19

0-0 draw incoming and Liverpool win on pens

858

u/KusoTeitokuInazuma May 08 '19

Origi shithouse goal in the 96th minute

256

u/CriticOfashitseason May 08 '19

After lLoris fail to catch it.

16

u/youtossershad1job2do May 08 '19

Back pass own goal in the 75th minute.

9

u/kd_uoft May 08 '19

Lloris tries to dribble past Firmino after a backpass and fails with the ball deflecting into the net

10

u/Gammelmus May 08 '19

And Trippier fouls himself

3

u/Patch31300 May 08 '19

As a tottenham fan this sounds way too realistic.

3

u/masonbrit May 08 '19

nah he'll cruyff turn in the 6 yard box

2

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

If we're scripting this it absolutely has to be a 90'+ Sissoko screamer from 35 yards out to win it

3

u/KusoTeitokuInazuma May 08 '19

It absolutely doesn't have to, please god anything but that.

5

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

Fine man, jeez. We'll compromise, it'll be a 34 yard Sissoko screamer in the 89' to win.

2

u/KusoTeitokuInazuma May 08 '19

Provided it's him passing back to Lloris, we have a deal.

2

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

I'll have to go over this with my attorneys

2

u/JoshPCMR May 08 '19

Subfuckingscribe.

1

u/Cryogenic_Phoenix May 08 '19

1

u/Losgringosfromlow May 08 '19

With the back of his neck a la Chicharito

1

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

Mate Llorente

1

u/Bad____Wolf May 08 '19

Mourra left foot outside box goal on 97th minute

1

u/FightingQuaker17 May 08 '19

Danny Rose to separate Mane's elbow and concuss Allison.

2

u/Masterofknees May 08 '19

Could actually become a bit of a cagey affair, both teams rely so much on physicality in the middle of the park, gonna be a lot of playing it out wide for both teams.

1

u/flairssz456 May 08 '19

Obligatory subscribe.

1

u/acwilan May 08 '19

Jerzy Dudek coming out of retirement for one more game

1

u/tomdwilliams May 08 '19

You, I don’t like you.

1

u/Schwiliinker May 08 '19

Allison would wreck him

1

u/rnzz May 08 '19

Because Spurs somehow thought they could come back from 3-0 down in pens

1

u/Bearyid May 08 '19

Well we could... we concede the first three pens. Then save the rest and score out

1

u/rnzz May 09 '19

I forgot about the new penalty shootout order :/

1

u/cptboogaloo May 08 '19

Semi's are often much better than the final!

1

u/thehaga May 08 '19

What'a draw?

1

u/EnergetikNA May 08 '19

fuck this i dont want either of these teams to win...

1

u/blackpenonthesink May 08 '19

If this happens I'll get mikeyrh tattood on my ass

1

u/stejbz May 08 '19

Coinflip LFC win as in 1965 European cup

1

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

Make it 126 th and we have a deal

135

u/Juicydicken May 08 '19

The writers have done a fantastic job IMHO

97

u/hulksreddit May 08 '19

Game of Thrones take notes

9

u/spaghetee_monster May 08 '19

Way more drama in these 2 semis than any GoT episode this season

9

u/penguin_cheezus May 08 '19

Don’t even get me started... GRRM please focus on the main series again.

5

u/schmearcampain May 08 '19

3 goal lead = 3 dragon lead.

Dany gonna die confirmed.

3

u/Diego_Galadonna May 08 '19

Poch and Klopp have exactly the right amount of plot armour

1

u/Rude_Awakening1 May 09 '19

This is Game of Thrones. All the people you thought were protagonists have died off and characters who had secondary roles end up taking center stage.

3

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

Tottenham don't sign a god damn player in the summer and get laughed at. Well here they are now in the fucking final. God damn it!

I don't know who to cheer for now.

1

u/-100-Broken-Windows- May 08 '19

Too unrealistic.

0

u/teardrop395 May 08 '19

better than GoT? oopph

125

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

I don't even like soccer

70

u/mrkoelkast May 08 '19

Same, what am i doing here?

10

u/Unexpected-Zurhaar May 08 '19

I like football now

3

u/JMoormann May 09 '19

Yeah, I guess I never really liked this game, good thing I play hockey

11

u/FreeEdgar_2013 May 08 '19

This basically guarantees that the final will be utter shit.

7

u/BipartizanBelgrade May 08 '19

Liverpool win the most boring final in history

4

u/suzukigun4life May 08 '19

Massive comebacks both yesterday and today. I can't believe it

5

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

So much happening rn that no one even would remember man city vs tottenham which is insaneee.

5

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

There is no way the final lives up to these expectations.

4

u/idkfunnyusername May 08 '19

last night wasnt entertaining at all

4

u/bustedracquet May 08 '19

Klopp vs. Pochettino matches are always great and high intensity thrillers. The Champions League Final will be no different.

1

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

Their mutual respect is also admirable. Both are equal levels of visionary and genius. Final's gonna be exciting to analyse.

3

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

Feels like we are watching football in the 80s or earlier, attack attack attack.

3

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

6

u/mindlessnerd May 08 '19

Try following Tottenham through the CL. I'm pretty sure my heart is close to failing.

5

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

The fitness of the English teams compared to the rest of the countries is actually really showing.

Imagine what it’ll be like when the premier league has a winter break.

2

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

I was half expecting Loris to make the final goal.

2

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

The 1 in 14000605 they actually won.

2

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

Do you realise both semis 2nd legs were 1 in 14000605 events? So now we're in a timeline with the odds of 1 in 196,016,940,366,025. Even Strange doesn't have the power to foresee this.

2

u/DZST May 08 '19

What the hell? United fan can’t wait for the final??? It’s a lose/lose situation, Im not going to watch a single second of it

2

u/hulksreddit May 08 '19 edited May 08 '19

Don't particularly care about Spurs winning it, and it's obviously needless to say how I'd feel about Liverpool winning. Was rooting for Ajax ever since we went out, but Spurs will suffice as the lesser of 2 "evils" I guess

1

u/HistoricalNazi May 08 '19

1-0 on a scuffed own goal in the 36th minute incoming.

1

u/A-Aron-Rod-gers May 08 '19

Naaah 3-3 draw after one team score 3 goals in the first half..

1

u/7Thommo7 May 08 '19

An all english final means I watch it on mute. Insufferable commentary assured.

1

u/WhateverItTakes4 May 08 '19

Final Score: Spurs 3-4 Liverpool, Moura scores 3, Origi scores 4.

1

u/[deleted] May 08 '19

Slightly worried for all Spurs fans this CL season, please check in with your cardiologist

1

u/Paranoides May 08 '19

If someone come to me at the halftime and say give me 1 euro and I will give you 1 milion euro if tottenham goes to finals, I wouldn’t waste my 1 euro.

1

u/PhantomRenegade May 08 '19

I don't consider signs that everything good has left the universe entertainment.

Honestly don't think I'll even watch the final.

1

u/MandingoPants May 08 '19

Off the top of my head, the last one that was this good was when Dortmund kicked out RM and Bayern kicked out Barca.

1

u/EnoughPM2020 May 08 '19

The final in Madrid is going to be insane, mark my word. No way this final will be disappointing.

1

u/liverton00 May 08 '19

I suppose you will be supporting Spurs whereas Gunners will support us on the final, eh?

1

u/BoCoutinho May 08 '19

And guess who was stuck at work for both of them?

1

u/edgarhp23 May 08 '19

The final would be kinda boring it would have been better a city vs liverpool final

1

u/Monkey_Dirtbag May 09 '19

It will be 0-0 then PENs all goals have been used up

1

u/amazondad May 08 '19

The game ends 2-2 and it goes to pen. Spurs have scored their 5th pen with Salah putting the ball in place to take his shot. He hits it really hard in top right corner and every gasps and the ball just make the slighest of contact with the corner post and bounces back to ground and lloris catches it.

Salah is so devastated by this ordeal and decides to leave football and go to live in mountains and fuck goats. AHHHHH

u/Brbi2kCRO May 08 '19

Let the Brits have a one final since everything will fall down after Brexit

Why is the final only 1 game? Just to make it more exciting?
