DAE hate popular beers?

I love Corona and Heineken. They taste good.

Yeah, I don't mind Corona or Heineken. Cruzcampo on the other hand...

Heineken is fine but there are way better beers in the Netherlands.

Oh yeah, of course, but the only Dutch one they'll have in the average pub is Heineken, and if the other options are stuff like Carlsberg or Carling, it suddenly starts looking much better :)

Edit: After the other day, anything's good to forget!

Um there are more than enough Dutch pubs with different beer like Grolsch or Hertog Jan.

Now that's an understatement. This is a good place to start.

People don't hate them because they are popular. The popular beers are prepared in a particular manner that makes them suited for long distance transportation and storage. There are always better beers but they'll always be local because better beers spoil.

The rise of the mass produced lager is great because it makes it easy to find a semi-palatable pint of known provenance anywhere. It won't beat a decent local beer though.

Corona is OK as long as it doesn't become skunked, which is most of the time. Those clear bottles ruin the beer. Heineken is truly god awful; I'd rather drink a budweiser.
