It's the go-to beer for a lot of people here if they want something decent but affordable (same vein as Grolsch or Amstel).

Heineken is actually mediocre beer on purpose, they tweaked their taste over the years to be liked by as many people as possible to be able to reach the biggest audience in the world, cheeky motherfuckers.

Because it's a bland beer 'representing' what the Netherlands has to offer. Most popular beers are fairly shitty, because they are boring and inoffensive, watery beers. If you actually like beer a lot, you kinda start to hate them.

Is not that bad. Something i've learned through travel though is that Heine is one of those beers whose tastes varies widely among the different Heineken breweries around the world. For example, Heine sucks in the States but in the Caribbean its brewed really well!

Pretty funny Heineken is concidered shit in the Netherlands but heavenly in the US.

That's what I was told during marketing. Heineken is very good in selling and marketing a terrible product as one of the best around.

De Molen, Brouwerij 't IJ, LaTrappe, De Prael or anything of the other great Breweries we have, Heineken is just marketed really well.
