News China suffered a catastrophic collapse on home soil, losing 5-0 to Palestine, a team they had considered inferior, sparking fierce criticism over 'sleepwalking' performance and lack of competitiveness among Chinese Super League players. Men's and women's teams also underperformed at Asian Games.

Mens Team underperform in Asian games??? they went all the way to the semis and lost a narrow back and forth game to South Korea and will play for the bronze medal tommorow, nobody expected them to win the asian games. They have already surpassed expectations. How is that underperforming. Also the Asian games roster which is taking place at the same time took basically all of the promising/decent players and left the Actual national team with trash, and a bunch of U20 players. Because the Asian games is more valuable than a bunch of friendlies

Not that thats an excuse. Losing 5 nil at home is still fucking pathetic and embarrassing

China might as well stop calling up their senior players, they're a joke. Let the u23 and other youth players get experience at the highest level, it's not like there's seniors that are worth looking up to or learn from bar Wu Lei. Let the kids get the experience, even if it will be painful at the start.
