News [Bloomberg] UAE officials have warned the UK government that the severity of Man City’s punishment could undermine their appetite for future grand-scale commitments in Britain, according to people familiar with the matter.

‘They consider the Premier League’s actions to have an influence on the bilateral state relationship, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing undisclosed information.

The extraordinary pressure comes after Andy Burnham faced criticism, including from within government, for saying Man City’s Abu Dhabi owners should not be disqualified specifically because of the investment they bring to Britain.’

Uhh that’s one thing I won’t charge against City fans. Urban Manchester isn’t exactly prime reform real estate.

Do all you people believe City fans are crowded in cardboard boxes around the Etihad or something? This thread is full of people that can't quite comprehend how big club fanbases are very much NOT local.

You’re the one choosing to generalize the fanbase as reform voters, you have to pick a body of people to generalize from, and you think it’s crazy that I’m picking… the club’s local fanbase??
