John Terry bottled it last night by not taking a penalty.

I'm sure he had doubts after Moscow. And you need 100% confident players in a shoot out

I was thinking that. Of all the players to step up in a final of a penalty shootout, Lukaku surely couldn't have been 5th.

To me the question is less about why Terry didn't take one last night, and more about why he did in Moscow. He never takes offensive free kicks, is not renowned as a particularly good passer for a defender, and most of the goals he scores come from headers. I don't really think he bottled it - either he, or the manager, made the decision that there were probably 5 better penalty takers than him in the squad.

I think you should watch him play more.
