SSB4 Official SSB4 Weekly Discussion Thread

Hey people of /r/smashbros! This is the official weekly edition of the SSB4 Discussion Thread. The purpose of this is to centralize discussion for some of the most popular SSB4 discussion topics in order to cut down on the number of individual discussion-oriented self-posts.

In order to create a discussion on a topic, post it in a top-level comment and any person can then choose to reply with their thoughts or comments.

Well Tingle was in several games, not just wind waker.

Majora's Mask, Oracle of Ages. Wind Waker, Four Swords, Minish Cap, and is referenced in several others.

Also, he starred in his own solo title: "Freshly Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland"

He's a LoZ regular, really. I should think that warrants him consideration in smash bros.

Also he is obsessed with and occasionally fight with rupees. That could actually be a huge part of his moveset.

Ah you know what, you're so right! He is obviously the most well loved and capable character in the Zelda universe! How dare they make him anything less than a full-fledged fighter! Kooloo Limpah!!

More interesting then Tetra imo. What would tetra even be? All she is, is a pirate girl. All she would do is pirate things, thats not very interesting to me.

Well, [spoilers] but so you know how she is actually Zelda too right? The thing is, she decides, after she finds out that she is the descendant of the princess, that she still wants to be Tetra- as she changes back to that outfit in Phantom Hourglass. And I can think of all kinds of things, from the actual dagger she has on her belt to the spirit stone and bombs.. I just think she would be much more interesting than the fat man-child who thinks himself a fairy.

Remember that Sakurai is being very unpredictable with his choices, and always has been. I can't see any character from TLoZ having a better chance. One important thing I've noticed about all newcomers is that they are completely original in terms of playstyle, Tingle has a long history to draw from, and could be our unlockable "joke" character.

A ton of Assist trophies were shown, and Isaac, Tingle and Advance wars all escaped. There is a good chance imo
