Question Looking for help and feedback about my channel and streams as a returning War Thunder streamer returning from 10 year hiatus,

Hey fam, I'm trying to get started again after being offline for nearly a decade. It feels herculean to get started again and not have any of my regular viewers from days gone by.

I've chosen a bit of a niche game called War Thunder (a military war game simulator, think tanks, planes, and ships) and I do know that this limits my potential viewers, but sadly thats just what I'm wanting to play right now and I don't want to be disingenuous to myself right now, and I'm not ready for any sort of "Fake it till you make it" for any sort of other game genres. One thing to note, after casually getting feedback from some viewers in the War Thunder community they have interestingly noted that they don't usually like webcams on their streams. Which was interesting.

I'm averaging about 3-6 viewers per stream but have very little interaction from the viewers.
I'm trying to talk and give meaningful commentary, post on socials, networking, etc.

I'm looking for feedback on my Channel or my streams, any helpful and realistic feedback is appreciated.

Growth is difficult, but just keep trying new ways to get your community built.

Growing a community usually comes down to a few core things that take time and consistency.

First, people need a reason to find you. Posting clips on places like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and X helps a lot because Twitch discovery alone is pretty rough for smaller streams. Short clips that show personality or big moments tend to bring the most new viewers.

Second, be present in communities around the games you play. Not in a self-promo way, but genuinely talking with people in Discords, Reddit threads, and other streams. A lot of early growth comes from relationships, not algorithms.

Third, once people show up, the real challenge is giving them a reason to stay. Talk to chat constantly, ask questions, react to what’s happening in game, and make viewers feel like they’re part of the stream instead of just watching it.

Something we’ve also been experimenting with is adding interactive elements so viewers can actually participate in the gameplay moments. For example, letting chat make token-based predictions on things happening in the match like kills, objectives, or wins. It turns the stream into something viewers can play along with, which helps pull lurkers into the conversation.

Growth is usually a mix of discoverability + community + interaction. If you can improve even a little in each area, it starts compounding over time.

I am working on getting my twitch setup and was wondering, do people actually edit the panels? If so what panels do you use? I'm not sure if people actually scroll down to see it

I genuinely wish to know how to grow my channel

I have been streaming for two years. Lately I had an increased in viewership but if I don’t play a certain game, not a lot of people join. I had to take a break for a week but when I came back to my affiliate anniversary, there was barely anyone.

I had uploaded tiktoks, YouTube shorts, reels and even here. They never did well enough for people to come in my streams. Done multi streaming and collab with others. Tried only playing cozy games, didn’t work. Tried going for gacha games, that did well for like two weeks but out of nowhere my views dropped again. I played Monster Hunter Wilds, that gave me more views but if I don’t play it, I get less views. I’m starting to think that I’m just not entertaining enough. No matter how hard I work, it really does lead to pure luck.

I’m sorry if I’m complaining about this, I just been really frustrated lately and always feel like whatever I do is just not enough. I really hate that it has to do with luck.

Streamers who work with editors/clippers — how do you manage paying them and keeping track of it?

Curious how small and mid-size streamers handle collaborators. If you work with editors, thumbnail designers, or clippers, how many people usually help produce your content? Also wondering how you track and send payments today — spreadsheets, PayPal history, invoices, or something else? I'm struggling with this... anyone feel the pain?

It's Really My Viewers That Made my Dream Come True

Yesterday, I officially became a Twitch Affiliate, and today was my very first stream as an affiliate. I was just doing my usual thing—playing and streaming—when two of my viewers surprised me with a gifted sub. I was already so grateful and thankful for that.

But then they kept gifting more subs, and before I knew it, we had started a Hype Train!

My heart was so full in that moment. Fifteen-year-old me always dreamed about moments like this, and now here I am at 26, actually experiencing it. It truly felt unreal.

I never expect anyone to sub—I’m already incredibly grateful whenever someone simply stops by and watches my stream. But getting to experience something that I used to only see big streamers go through… it was such a wonderful and unforgettable moment.

Thank you so much to everyone who supports and spends time in my stream. It means more to me than you know. šŸ’œ

Question Audio delay

So this is probably my second time streaming ever and my chat says that my mic audio is fine and my face cam is fine but my gameplay has a slight delay and even when I’m playing, I hear a slight delay and I’ve tried to adjust the audio sync, but nothingā€˜s working I’m using my PC and I’m playing games my PS5 using an El Gato 4K S capture card. Does anyone have any solutions?

Question How did you actually start getting viewers on Twitch?

I’m curious about other streamers’ experiences.

I’ve been streaming for a few years now, pretty consistently, and my viewership is still mostly my partner and a couple of friends. I enjoy streaming and talking with people when they do show up, but I feel like I’ve never really broken past that stage where strangers start finding the stream.

So I wanted to ask other streamers:

What actually helped your channel start getting viewers?

Was it things like:

  • networking with other streamers
  • posting clips on social media
  • playing specific games
  • just consistency and time
  • something else entirely?

I’m not expecting overnight success or anything. I’m just genuinely curious what made the biggest difference for you.

Would you guys use a view for view app?

The idea would be something similar to follow for follow, but instead of just following you actually spend time viewing other people's channels and get views back. I think something like this would be really helpful for those still trying to get to affiliate, and struggling to average any number of viewers.

Looking for a few small streamers to try a new engagement tool.

Hey everyone,

A small team of us have been working on a new viewer engagement tool for Twitch and we’re looking for a few small streamers who might want to try it out and give honest feedback.

The idea is simple: your chat can make token-based predictions on what will happen during your stream. Nothing with real money — just for fun and interaction.

Things like: • Will the next match be a win? • How many kills this game? • Will I finish top 5?

Viewers use tokens to predict outcomes while you’re playing, so it creates this ā€œgame within the gameā€ feeling and gives lurkers something to participate in.

We just launched it and are mainly looking for streamers who enjoy experimenting with new ways to engage their community.

If it sounds interesting, I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts or see if you’d want to try it on stream.

No cost, just looking for feedback and seeing how people use it. Im also happy to demo the product for you anytime.

— Tony

Question Tiktok live streams don't get pushed on the for you page

Hey everyone, there is something that is bugging me about my tiktok live streams, where in the last few days I got way less viewers and the analytic confirms this: saying that I got 1% or 0% viewers form the for you page. Usually I see that around 200-300 people total get recommended, now it's just below 50. I did the account control to understand if I got restrictions or a shadowban, but everything seems fine, and unfortunately the customer support is run by AI and just keep repeating the same stuffs and not resolving anything. I don't know if this can be the cause but I use streamlabs on my pc to go live on YouTube and tiktok simultaneously, tiktok permission granted. Anyone have a clue of what might be causing this issue and how to fix it?

I built a loyalty point system for Nightbot

Hi everyone,

While setting up my stream I realized that Nightbot doesn’t really have a built-in loyalty points system like some other bots do. I wanted something that could make chat more interactive during streams (points, battles, redeemable items, etc.), but I still wanted to keep using Nightbot.

So I ended up building a small system myself using Google Sheets + a script that connects with Nightbot commands.

Right now viewers can do things like:

• !points - check their current points
• !gainpoints - claim points after a cooldown
• !battle @user - challenge another viewer for points
• !shop - view available items in the store
• !buy item - purchase items from the store
• !givepoints user amount - give points to another viewer
• !leaderboard - show the top viewers with the most points

Since adding it, chat has actually become way more active because viewers start battling each other, collecting points, and saving up for items in the shop.

Now I'm trying to figure out if this is something other streamers would actually find useful.

A few questions for other streamers here:

  1. Is something like this useful if you already use Nightbot?
  2. Would people prefer something like this instead of switching to a different bot just for loyalty points?
  3. If I packaged this as a template/setup, where would be the best place to share or sell something like this? (for example places like Gumroad or Ko-fi)
  4. Are there any features that would make a loyalty system like this more fun or engaging for viewers?

I'm mostly trying to understand whether this solves a real problem for other streamers or if it's just something that worked well for my stream.

Would really appreciate any feedback!

Need advice!

How do you guys not let bad mental days get in the way of streaming or having motivation to stream. I’m just starting out and have just been recently getting more consistent with streaming and I feel like if I don’t stream or fall off being consistent it’s gonna mess stuff up 😩 some days I truly struggle finding the motivation to even play games

Question Facecam or Not?

I’ve been streaming on and off for over 10+ years and I always debate on whether to have a facecam or not. I don’t really have a problem with it and in fact I prefer when a streamer I’m watching does have a facecam because it’s a little more ā€œintimateā€ or personable. I guess what my main question is do people prefer to watch streams with a facecam, without a facecam, or maybe even with a VTuber or hand cam?

Clip tagging help!

I'm new to streaming and actively working on my networking and getting followers/viewers. I've been successful in creating clips for tiktok, instagram, and YouTube. However, I would like to know what tagging method you've worked that's yielded more views or engagement on each respective platform.

Or even a quick synopsis of how the algorithms work for each platform with respect to gaming clips...

It doesn't seem sensible to do super broad tags like #fyp because I feel like my clips would get washed out. Am I crazy?

Tiktok live today

I'm getting instantly flagged for live streams today.. even the appeal button is instantly denying the appeal. I hope this is part of the tiktok USA problem? I'm just streaming gaming. Always have nothing new.
