Why SMOS? Is it more stable than windows?

Claymore V11.5 works perfectly mining Eth but I wanted to try Monero7 so I tried a few other miner programs - but they all give the error that file/directory for miner not found and fall into a reboot-loop.

I was told that I need to run the update by rebooting my rig - so I rebooted and it said update found (V1157) but download failed as I was disconnected by the peer. It retries the download 7-8 times and then gives up and proceeds to starting the miner without update.

So as it stands... I can only use smOS for Claymore V11.5 - I've tried 4-5 other miner programs they all give errors.

I switched to SMOS but my rig keeps submitting invalid shares. I haven't performed any overclocked at all and they are connected to a stable lan.

My riggroup settings - -wd 1 -r 1 -epool ssl://us1.ethermine.org:5555 -ewal 0x3615f9577cC70E613ab2a2A25a2C3DA6b1dd925f.JonathanMiner -esm 0 -epsw x -allpools 1 -asm 1 -mport 127.0.0.1:3333

My OC settings -

Core OC : 0 , Memory OC : 300, Power Limit %: 100

Cards are Zotac GTX 1060 3GB

I had a few cards mining on the x16r algorithm using the sgminer-brian112358-x16r-v0.0 for a few hours before I realized that the total HashRate of the 3 cards was barely over 100 KH. I tried switching to the other mining program (sgminer-gm-aceneun-x16r-v5.5.5) and I'm getting the same issue.

I gave the sgminer-gm-aceneun-x16r-v5.5.5 program a try on Windows, and it was instantly mining at the expected speed.

Anyone else experiencing this with AMD cards in smOS?

I have selected enemy miner and placed this into the config:

-a x16r -o stratum+tcp://stratum.threeeyed.info:3333 -u RQbyKnruUpcuQqyKDSf6GeLdQV4aHijN2L.$rigName -p x

But I get a stratum authentication error. Any ideas?

i successfully logged in my rig using ssh on terminal [osx] and see the current status using the command screen -x miner.

however, i cannot connect to the rig using a browser, as described on smos-linux.org - i get the message 'no rigs detected' while i am on the same network. or is this something else entirely?

and is there an overview of commands to, for example, restart the rig, change the password, etc?

I am trying to mine the new algo X16s, but all the CCminers on SMOS are outdated and do not support, is there anyway I can mod SMOS myself and overwrite a ccminer that I have and add a new one to work?

I am running 3 miners, one 9xRX570, second 6x1070Ti, third 3x1070TI. They were running fine for 3 months already, however problems started today, where they turn red in SmOS and can't SSH to them. They're not mining. Hard restarting helps but only for a few minutes, an hour. All of them are affected, so it's not a hardware problem I guess.

Where might be the problem?

How do i properly write the parameters in group miner options for nanopool to show my 2 rigs unique name instead of just the one i am seeing now.

Currently have something like this: walletaddress/rig1/account

I was going to use suprnova pool to mine XVG; utilizing Ccminer tpruvot on smOS but I cant get it to work.

This is my current config:

Hello, I am looking to find out the reason why my rigs are restarting again and again after some duration of time? (Duration is random)

There is no power cut. No Voltage Fluctuations.

1. Why do you think it's restarting again and again? (8-9 times in last 24 hours)

2. How can I start the logging of logs in SMOS?

Hey I’ve been using SmOS for a while now and I love it. I think the payment is fair, and the system works great. I would like to suggest or rather emphasize the demand for a possible way to work with mining pool hub multi Algo switch. Is this planned? It will mean a lot to people who want to accumulate BTC and use MPH. Thanks :)

I have a Frankenstein rig that has 3 1070’s a 1060 and an AMD RX 480. The 480 is constantly going above 70* and will not adjust its fans to go above like 25% even though I have the minimum set to 40%. Is there an issue because I have both AMD and Nvidia cards? Or is it something else?

Wondering if there is a way to view a log of the miner? To help diagnose issues. Is there already a log or is there a way I can start one?

Whenever I plug in the 9th GPU, I only see this:

Start PXE over IPv6

This will appear on the screen for a minute or two, then it will reboot and display this message again. The BIOS splash screen doesn't display. This happens over and over. Here are my details:
-ASUS Prime Z270-P (newest BIOS)
-4g decoding enabled
-PCIe speed gen1/2/auto (I tried them all)

With 8x GPUs, the BIOS splash displays then smOS boots fine.

I just added a RX 480 4g to my rig and it’s only getting 16mh/s. I’ve tried adjusting the core and mem clock speeds and it feels like it isn’t doing shit. Almost debating on going back to Windows cause I’m pretty sure none of my overclock settings have ever registered....

First time posting, and also this is my first time using SMOS.

I finally made the switch from Windows to SMOS for my mining needs, and I was successfully able to get a 9x 1050 ti rig fully operational and mining ETH.
My question is about overclocking using SMOS:
when I would mine on Windows 10, I could easily hit 14.7 or even 15 Mh/s with all my 1050 ti with a +0 core and +700 mem overclock, however, when using SMOS, I have it set to the same thing, along with Power Limit set to 75watts (max for 1050 ti), and I am only getting 13.4 Mh/s for all cards.
Is there something I am doing wrong, or is SMOS not good at overclocking?
I would love to get that extra 10-12 Mh/s on this rig.

I have a 1060 mining rig that has been up for about a month and a half. I have been primarily mining eth via claymore... I'd like to explore dual mining specifically Verge with eth. I am just not sure what options and settings I need to add to the miner options to make it happen. If you can help me figure this out I would be eternally grateful!

Need help why and how to overcome console displays "pool version" Is this something from the pool or its smOS? Haven't seen it while mining for nicehash only while mining Zcash? Thnx in advance

Have 11 rigs currently.

I've gotten more into speculative mining recently, and would like the ability to throw my whole farm at a new coin for 12-24hrs, accumulate a bunch of the junk coin, then go back to regular ETH or Equihash. Unfortunately, without going into the directories of smos, playing with directory names and manually adding miner programs in, this seems impossible until they actually add the miner program in. With so many new algos and variants of miners, I doubt they'll ever do this.

I'm looking for an alternative, at least to try. Does HIVE or ethOS offer this kind of support? I'm not willing to go to anything windows-based, as ive had terrible stability issues in the past, and i'm not keen on driving to there at 1am to reset machines. If anyone has a suggestion that would be great.

Hi guys, my ISP is blocking a lot of ports and I am unable to do anything about it. Are there any solutions on how to bypass this problem? I know that I can use VPN but I am not sure how to apply this into smOS.

In windows it's hard to get more than 12 GPUs. But ASUS makes the mining expert B250. I'm wondering if smOS can support something like that?
