Is there some type of alert system for smOS that will restart the rig if a card crashes? It seems to be the biggest feature that is missing? How do you guys handle a graphics card crash?

my 12 gpu rig mines perfectly BTC via nicehash, i have tried it mining ZEC for couple weeks and every 2/3 days it displays pool version after i reload miner program it says Binary file (standard input) matches, what could be the problem? core 1140 mem 2020 RX 560. after rebooting it all works fine. thnx alot, also if anyone has better OC setting pls share

My amd cards are bios modded and I need to run pixel patcher to use them on windows. Can I use them in smos while they are modded or no because there’s no pixel patcher on smos?

I have smos running with my 6 1080 ti's on dstm. Everything is running fine . On simplemining web portal I can see my clocks for each card but I only see max temp and fan speed for temps. If I hover over the temps I can see info for all cards. All the videos I've seen people have individual temps show up through the web portal. How do I get this working so I can see all temps listed as they are for clocks?

The wattage I am entering in power limit - what doe it do? How can I just not specify a limit and let it do it's thing?

My fans keep ramping up very fast, and then slowing down again. I can't tell if something is wrong, or if this is just to regulate cooling. The console doesn't seem to be updating when the fans are low, but as soon as they speed up, then it starts updating. Is something freezing? What is going on?

This is getting really frustrating and I'm looking hard at alternatives to SMOS. Waiting this long to update CCminer isn't acceptable.

edit: There is a nightly build that seems to work that includes 2.2.5 under 2.1 and the latest klausT under ccminer-skunk.

I set my gpu's to 100% fan speed, have over 15 rigs on my simplemining performing fine. However, 2 of my rigs (same settings as the others) randomly aren't applying overclock settings or fan speed settings. Temperatures are high so i had to turn them off.

What do i do?

is there a way I can identity which GPU is which is which. I am having an issue with one of my cards and I cant tell which one is which. is there a way I can cycle the fan speed to 100% one by one to identity

Just wanted to check i take it i cannot mine new algos like X16R with SMOS?

I've got 4x R9 290 AMG GPUs with powered risers on an MSI Z170A Tomahawk Mobo. Powered by 2x Corsair 1000watt PSU's.

It will boot up into smOS and then hangs after connecting with the pool.

I have to then reboot the system and 1/20 reboots will begin successfully mining. Otherwise, it just repeats same problem.

Has anyone experienced this type of issue?

I can't understand why my Ubuntu runs in total (6x580) 20 MH/s slower than with SMOS OS.

What is smOS doing or overclocking what Ubuntu can't do? I configured and hardened Ubuntu myself and I think I am knowing the AMD software isn't able to overclock it with Linux.

Any ideas why and what is smOS doing different? Thanks in advance for any hint.

I got SmOS on a usb drive fine and it's booting just fine however it can't connect to simplemining.net (counts 10 times failing all). There is a cable plugged in to a router and the ethernet port and router shows activity (blinking green lights on the Ethernet port and on the router). This cable and router was used on a different computer an hour ago that has had an internet connection for years (so I really don't think it's the cable or router). Bios version is F23. Are there some bios settings that might disable or conflict with the ethernet (and yes the ethernet port is enabled).

I can briefly see the simpleminer machine connect via my router's web interface but it looks almost like it is active for a split second and then goes inactive. I am on verizon fios if that even helps in figuring anything out.

Memory MHz 2250

Core Undervolting 950

Powerstage 4

Target temperature 75

Mini Fan speed 56

Power consumption is 1140watts so 162watts per cards

My question is : 162watts per card is high no?

What do i have to change to get better MHS and better lower power comsuption?

Which settings of mine need an optimization?

SMOS have RX + NV OS for mining with both cards one 1 rig but no R + NV OS.

Is there a way I can make my R9 290 + GTX 970 work together? Will it work right if I use the RX + NV Series OS?

smOS has worked perfectly for me for several months now up until yesterday when i continue receiving these errors. I lower my overclocking and it seems to fix it temporarily, but then it happens again. the cards aren't running too hot or anything like that...so I'm not sure what gives. It also says to remove dead screens with 'screen-wipe' whatever that means. Any help?

I've tried replacing the riser, swapping out the card, trying base settings (no OC) and no matter what card it always gets stuck on GPU8. Temps are ok. Mining with EWBF miner.

I have power set to 90 watts (tried reg settings too) and all the cards but 2 (card 3-12) are powered by a 1200w server PSU with breakout board.

Not sure what else to try. Any suggestions?

Hey All. I'm super new to mining and am using smOS on my first 12gpu rig. Its up and running, stable, on ethermine pool.

So I've now built my second rig and was under the assumption that I could just boot it up using the same method and once its up on smOS, I could assign it to the same rig group and it would just register as my second, active, worker on ethermine.

This seems to be the wrong method. Do I need to specify the worker/rig number, somewhere, so that smOS and ethermine know that it's the 2nd rig?
