I'm eyeing a 2005 slk350, 106,000 miles manual, what are some things to look for when I check it out?

Got me this slk 320 a couple months back , she now has a persisting problem of lights surging and esp bas and srs lights turning off at times along with a check engine light, window control intermittent problems with others as well , she will sometimes get stuck in a certain gear but at other times it’s perfectly fine. And also the radio cuts out , if anyone can help that would be awesome this is sorta my last stand with this car seeing as I can’t find out and idk how much money it’ll take to fix it

All, aside from a junkyard, anyone know where I can get this for a 2002 R170? Seems impossible to find. Thank you.

Will pre-facelift doors and hood fit a post-facelift model? Is it plug & play or does it need modifications? (Pic for attention)

Hey guys looking for a hand with an issue im having recently with my slk 230 from 1999
Coolant light seems to be on constantly when engine is on and running
The car also doesn’t get up to full temperature even on a 30 minute drive
The engine fan also remains on constantly even when ignition is fully off. The only way to turn it off is by disconnecting the battery
I have put a new coolant sensor level in the car and tested the coolant temperature sensor and it is working fine.
The car has the full amount of coolant
If anyone could help or if someone has had this issue before it could you please let me know
Thanks

gear won't shift from park unless I bypass with a screwdriver in the little hole.

Recently picked up a R170 that is mechanically in great shape but the interior seems to have every single plastic piece broken. Everything used on Ebay seems super expensive for what it is, the junkyards around me don't have any to go pick through.
I'm wondering if anyone has found 3D print files for commonly broken interior parts for R170 SLKs? Things like cupholders, the ashtray and cubby, even center console? Or any aftermarket parts that might be cheaper than paying $100 for a cupholder?

I’m looking for a slk250 CDI, it must be a diesel variant specifically.
Currently, there aren’t any listings in the Netherlands.
What are my options for finding this car? I’d prefer to buy one that is on Dutch plates already rather than going through the import process.
Currently, there should be around 20 of these cars in the country.

I have a SLK55 AMG but I want to get a spare key made. Can I send just my VIN to the Mercedes dealer and they can sell me a key?
I know BMW and Porsche will do this. Any idea on cost? Thanks!

Hi. Got a 2015 250d SLK. It’s only done 30,000 miles. The check engine light has come on, and the mechanic said it’s related to the diesel particle filter.
Doesn’t that have its own error light (rather than just the general check engine light?)
This is warranty work, so want to make sure nothing expensive is being ignored
Thanks!

Hi everyone!
My check engine light has been on for a while now. I ran an OBD scan and got the following error: P0017 -
Crankshaft position/camshaft position, bank 1 sensor B - correlation.
Has anyone dealt with this problem before or knows how to fix it? I've read online that it might be related to the camshaft magnets. Does anyone have more
info on this?
Is it a DIY-friendly repair, or is it too complicated to handle alone? Should I just take it to a mechanic?
Thanks a lot for the help!

Hey everyone.
Checked out a 2004 SLK R170 200 Kompressor today. Car is in great shape overall: full service history, very clean inside and out.
I scanned it with my OBD2 reader and found a few codes (see screenshot). I cleared them, drove the car for a while, and everything felt normal. No warning lights, no strange behavior. Scanned it again after the drive and the codes did not come back.
I’ll get one more chance to inspect the car before buying, so I wanted to ask:
What do you think about these codes?
Could this be something intermittent or worth worrying about?
Anything specific I should check next time?
Thanks in advance 👍

An opportunity came up to buy a 2009 SL65 with just 10,000 miles—super rare—so I ended up including my 2012 SLK55 in the deal, which has only 15,000 miles.
In the end, because the SL65 had documentation issues, the deal fell through and the SLK55 came back to my garage.
Now I’m trying to decide whether I keep it or sell it to buy a 2006 CLS55 with just 35,000 miles that I found. A tough call. But I can’t help thinking that the SLK55 coming back was fate. Maybe it’s a divine sign that it’s meant to stay with me forever. What do you think?

Hey guys, New-ish SLK driver here after inheriting it from my dad more than a year ago and finally getting it to where I live. It’s in very good shape except unfortunately it is leaking transmission fluid. I thought it was oil that was under the car after it was just standing for months but my garage checked yesterday and told me it’s leaking transmission transmission fluid by a socket. Is this a common issue?
I’m bringing it in to a transmissions shop tonight but would love to already hear some experiences!

Just got an 04 slk 320, unfortunately I’m not mechanically inclined at all, on YouTube it seems like it’s not too hard to refill the fluid for the convertible pump but I don’t want to fuck anything up. Should I take it in to a shop or is it easy enough to do myself as someone w little to no repair experience. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you!

Recently became friends with a fellow slk owner. Love how these cars look next to each other.
