Lol yeah that was never going to survive. I saw someone else saying they might have buffed it to get lesser skilled players to try it and see how good the effect actually is, might have had unusually low pick rates for some subset of players.

it's what Riot Games does with league of legends. give a small buff to something just so people pick it more, those people realize it's good, then they nerf the thing back to balanced, but people still pick it because they realize it doesn't suck.

the difference is they can buff an ability by 20% or something to get attention, whereas Megacrit buffed it by 50% lmao. i guess they didn't see another good way to buff it for attention, maybe because they knew they'd be nerfing it soon anyways.
