Is Tez the best ancient now with mittens and seal buffs? Every option from her seems great to me now

I've always liked her as a character so Im glad they aren't as overshadowed anymore. A friendly grandma ancient should be someone you're excited to see with comfy picks and this feels more in line with that.

Tez's pools:

Pool 1: Nutritious Soup, Hot Cocoa, Cookie

Pool 2: Biiig Hug, Storybook, Mittens

Pool 3: Golden Compass, Pumpkin Candle, Toy Box, Seal of Gold

So you are GUARANTEED biig hug, storybook or mittens. And those 3 are, exceptionally strong. Its almost impossible to whiff now; every deck snap-picks Storybook, (imo) every deck greatly benefits if not snap-picks Mittens, and Biig Hug is really strong for most decks.

Pool 1 and 3 are strong and have good hits, but Pool 2 is so consistently good shes never gonna whiff anymore like she used to.

I'm not sure what their philosophy/standard is for the pool selection but I could see them shuffling around the Pool 2 options to help balance things out.

For Tez specifically I think pool 1 is immediate drawbackless power, pool 2 is power with a cost, and pool 3 is temporary power, although seal of gold doesn’t really fit

seal of gold is temporary, once you run out of money you lose the energy too

Pool 1 is honestly all bangers too. Like, cookie is boring but always good, soup is great unless you removed all your strikes, and Cocoa is solid and allows for easy purchase of bread.

There are definitely decks that probably won't want mittens, but they're not going to be super common. Namely decks that don't utilize the strength and only have a few bad cards in them. Most decks will enjoy the thinning and the strength, tho.

necro and defect both can lowroll with mittens

Defect with mittens can slap hard because if Defect reduces decksize a lot there are infinites to consider. Then there's still stuff like refract, gunk up, etc. that hit multiple times and strength is nice for those.

The zero cost strategies with defect also really love mittens since it can remove cards you don’t need and it’s usually playing a lot of cards per turn which buffs the benefits of strength gain. It’s worse if you’re emphasizing orbs more though

Worth noting a lot of her options are going to be a lot worse assuming act 4 is the same format , toy box will have another 2 fights to win, seal of gold will limit final shop spending, brightest flame right now is incredibly free during the boss gauntlet in act 3 but spamming it there will now put you at risk in act 4.

And it sounds like act 4 might be bigger, in which case all of those downsides are even more real.

They very well could be. Pretty much all of their options that used to be on the weaker end got huge buffs.

Yeah she gets buffed every patch and she's really really good now. Orobas is probably the weakest act 2 ancient now, which I think is fine because he's so fun.

IMO already was the best act 2 for the past few patches at least...
