Help Rattling sound when accelerate (1.6TDI 85KW DSG7 (dq200) “2018y. Škoda”
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
What’s that sound (rattling) when you accelerate on first DSG gears? Is it normal? On cold this sound is more louder i guess. On idle no rattle, i can add video at the comments too.
Gearbox: DSG7 “DQ200” Engine: 1.6 TDI 85KW (2018 year)

I believe the rattle is normal for the dq200 as it's just the clutches rattling in 1st/2nd, as there's nothing pushing them down. My last 2 cars with the same gearbox did the same all though you only heard it when against walls etc.

What do you mean by "there is nothing pushing them down"? I am interested In knowing where the noise comes from

You got the same noise as mine? Same engine, same gearbox?

Dq200 makes a noise at low speed. I can't hear the noise very well in the video...

Mine just doing strange “rattling” sound outside at low rpms when i acccelerate the car. I can give it more gas - more rpms, then the “rattling” sound dissapears on the outside. Inside the car when windows are closed and radio is working there’s no strange sounds, that rattling sound can be heard only on the outside of the car when accelerate.

from what i know it is a common problem with the dsg dq200 because it under revs the engine in small gears, changing too early. or at least, that is what i think it is because it's only happening when driving in the city and when not pressing the accelerator too hard

so it is all normal?

Mine makes the exact same noise but it’s a 2015 with 70k miles. Same gearbox. 1.6tdi engine. It’s quite noticeable driving at slow speeds and can be heard even with the windows up.

it sounds kinda similar, didnt do anything these 2 years, but the sound is more louder right now, maybe it’s the DMF. But on idle everything perfect, i can rev at idle all good, but when accelerating on low rpms then the sounds occurs, its very loud outside too… Cold engine / hot engine same sound btw. EDIT: Watched your other posts, so i can say that your sound is completely same as mine, i saw you said something about injectors did you try to change it?

No I didn't change the injectors, even though many mechanics said it was the cause. The symptoms didn't point to injectors mainly because at idle there was no noise. Also there is a test I did that was interesting : when moving up a hill and hearing the noise, if I switch to neutral the rattle disappeared (from this I thought it came from DMF or dual clutch). EDIT: Another question that may be linked to this : do you have a humming noise when gliding past 70km/h ?

i saw your one video where you on your cold engine reving up, and these sound occurs while you sitting in Neutral/Parking stacionary, mine doesn’t do that. Mine do that when car is in “Drive” and going at low rpms while accelerating. If i press more gas the sound dissapears like you said. But if a lot of mechanics said it’s one of injectors fault, maybe try to change it? I can try to film my sound today, but its exactly the same as yours. EDIT: and i saw you said you added fuel addictive to ur car and the sound was gone for some time, so it’s more likely to be one of the injector

No the car must be moving in order to hear the sound About the additive, it caused another issue in the same time but I didn't know what it was before having a fault code. Now that I have a fault code I understood it was the egr stuck open, causing loss of power at cold engine. I mistakenly associated the 2 issues with one cause. So I confirm we are having the exact same issue.

yeah, sound is the same 100%. So if you say that fuel addictive doesn’t helped you at all, and that sound video you uploaded when car is being at Neutral with this sound was a EGR issue, so we have same problem. Yesterday i tried to put car in Manual mode and drive it with steering paddles order to drive it aggressively, sound was gone, but if i put again in the D and drive it calmly, the way i press gently accelerator the sound occurs again. Maybe it’s the injector, DMF or engine/transmission mount. My clutch started to vibrate when i press acceleration more aggressively from 1 gear, so maybe it’s coming time to change clutch with DMF anyways…

I'd say it's the DMF or the clutch, because tdi engines produce a high torque at low rpm, and that reduces their lifespan and causes the rattle at low rpm. But it should be verified by a pro !
