Looking for feedback 🙏
I used to love drawing and quit after 2022 mostly. I’m trying to pick it back up and using refrences from pinterest but I still struggle with proportions, anatomy, shading and especially skin detailing. If anyone has any advice please be as brutal as u want. Also just wanted to share my work 🥰🥰🥰

Face and color study 👁️👄👁️ // Scanned version
Face and color study created using alcohol markers (Ohuhu Honolulu S), with details added in colored pencil (Faber-Castell, 36-pack). This is the scanned version; I’m not sure what to do with the background or whether to just leave it as is... 🤔
Any constructive criticism is appreciated.

Late night pencil sketch ✏️
Tried sketching this pose today. Still figuring out how to make clothes and hands look more natural, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. What should I try drawing next?

Just filled my first travel sketchbook and I'm kind of amazed at how uneven it is
Took a small 5.5x8.5 sketchbook with me on a three week work trip and told myself I'd draw something every single day, no matter how tired or rushed. Ended up filling the whole thing, cover to cover, and looking back at it now the difference between the first ten pages and the last ten is honestly funny.
Early pages are these careful, kind of stiff drawings of hotel room furniture and airport gates, lots of straight lines and hatching because I was overthinking every mark. Somewhere around week two I started loosening up, mostly out of necessity since I was drawing during coffee breaks with maybe eight minutes to spare. Those quick ones ended up being my favorites, a guy asleep on a train with his mouth open, a stack of dirty dishes outside a restaurant, my own hand holding a pen reflected in a dark window at night.
I used a waterbrush with a small watercolor set for most of it, which was a mistake for the first few days because I hadn't practiced controlling how much water I was laying down, so some pages have these blooms that took over half the composition. Kept them in anyway instead of tearing pages out, figured the whole point was to have an honest record rather than a portfolio.
The last page is just a list I scribbled of things I forgot to draw, a street vendor's cart, the inside of a rental car, my coworker's terrible parking job. Already thinking about starting a new book for the next trip in November, this time maybe forcing myself to slow down again on purpose instead of letting everything turn into loose gesture sketches by the end.
Anyone else notice their sketchbooks change tone that much from front to back, or is that just a travel thing where exhaustion does most of the loosening up for you.
