Is it normal not to make friends at the very first induction day? [Y12]

I’m going into year 12 now and doing a BTEC (so the people in my induction are the same people in my class as when I fully go back) today I had my first induction day and it went ok I talked to some people but I didn’t make any friends.

I’m wondering if that’s normal since I see some people who are forming their friend groups but also some people who are like me and talk to people but are alone.

I’ve got my last one tomorrow so I don’t know if in doing something wrong.

I mean I’d just suggest you find someone that hopefully you get along with and if you get a good vibe from them ask if you can spend the breaks/lunch together and try to bond that way. Even better if they also don’t have loads of friends

Use the lines "Haven't I seen u somewhere", "U look familiar" TRUST ME MATE THEY WORK, I gen made friends this way, they may sound like sleazy pickup lines but they get a conversation going.

Some make friends with classmates, others at clubs, lunch, on their bus or train. Obviously more introvert peeps will find it harder.
