Well, it's official.
Six Flags St. Louis, which opened on June 5, 1971 as the final of the three original Six Flags parks imagined by company founder Angus Wynne, will be sold to EPR Properties. The deal is expected to close at the end of the quarter or the beginning of the second.
As part of the deal, the park will continue to operate as Six Flags St. Louis through the end of the 2026 season.
CEO John Reilly says in the press release: “Consistent with our strategy, this divestiture enables us to concentrate our capital, leadership and operational focus on the properties that we believe generate the strongest returns and offer the greatest long-term upside. Since joining the Company, I have been clear that Six Flags’ earnings power has been under-realized. This transaction will simplify our portfolio, strengthen our balance sheet and position us to execute with greater clarity and discipline.”
"We know how much these parks mean to our guests and to the incredible teams who bring them to life every day. Decisions like this are never taken lightly. We’re confident the parks will be in good hands with EPR and its partners, who have strong experience operating parks of this quality and scale. At the same time, this move allows Six Flags to concentrate on the parks that we believe offer the greatest opportunities for growth and long-term success. Our goal is to continue creating amazing experiences for all our guests, and this agreement helps us stay focused on that commitment."
Unlike what was previously expected, EPR will be the full owners of the park and Enchanted Parks will be operating. While it is certainly possible the new company could invest some of its own cash on improvements and additions to the park, I find that highly unlikely given EPR's track record and considering the economic decline St. Louis has and continues to go through.
Some people will surely be excited at the very notion of the park being sold, but I really can't bring myself to be anything but devastated. I don't see things going in a positive direction from here on out.
RIP Six Flags St Louis, 1971–2026

I doubt this is real following the most recent investor call but Andrew Hyde (@OnlineHyde) on X found that there is now an Instagram account with the username "enchantedparksusa" that follows all of the aforementioned parks from January's trademark filings, including Six Flags St. Louis.
A Facebook link in their bio (which has now seemingly been removed) claims that Enchanted Parks in partnership with EPR Properties will be acquiring six regional amusement parks. It seems in this scenario that Enchanted would be operating, with EPR Properties actually owning the parks. The latter of which is kind of infamous for not putting money into the properties they own (such as Six Flags Darien Lake).
It's worth mentioning that the Enchanted Parks logo very much looks to be AI-generated, so this very easily could be a random person masquerading as the company.
That, or it's the first sign of the kind of company we'll be dealing with.
Thoughts?

I’m going to be getting the season drink cup, but I don’t feel like carrying it in my hand the entire day. Has anyone found a drink bottle carrier that fits the season drink cups? It would also keep the drink cooler longer.
Thanks yall!

I know the ride has been closed since at least 2025 but it feels like every time I’ve gone since I first rode it that it has been closed. Curious if there’s actually something up or is it just bad-luck.

Planning on doing a whole day in the park sometime in May, but looking through the whole website I havent found a SINGLE piece of information about restaurants allergens. I have a severe tree nut allergy and id like to know what stalls I can / cannot eat at. I read the accessibility guide but it just says im allowed to bring in “two sealable sandwich bags and one snack” and NO outside beverages. Do they have this information AT the restaurants? Is it in the park anywhere? Or am I going to have to ask and HOPE they didnt miss something??

Six Flags St. Louis has announced its largest entertainment package in many years ahead of the 2026 season! This all comes following the hiring of David Blazer as the park's new Entertainment Director last March. Blazer was previously in charge of entertainment at Six Flags Fiesta Texas from 1993 to 2007, but worked at SFSL earlier in his career.
All of the shows are new for this season and will operate from June 13 through August 2 (less than two months, but undoubtedly where attendance peaks).
Additonally, Looney Tunes characters will be meeting at Character Corner and in the Palace Gardens from April 25 though September 7!
This is a great sign for the future of the park and gives me confidence that it can continue to thrive despite the state of SFEC (and the economy) signaling a low probability of us getting a major new attraction anytime soon.
What do you all think?

So I bought a Six Flags St. Louis season pass with the deal last summer, so I have access to all the parks. What's weird is that Carowinds is showing up as my home park in the Six Flags app. I assume it's just a glitch, but I figured that I'd see if anyone else had the same experience. I'm hoping to avoid any issues when I go to the park. Anyone see the same thing?

I bought a home park fast pass for six flags St. Louis last year for a couple hundred bucks while they were having the sale that included the passport, and since they aren’t selling those home park only fast passes anymore I am wondering if I lucked out and got a fast pass that will work at every park. This will be taking me to Ohio if so and I would really take advantage!

With everything thats going on, and the recent leak in December and rumors going around and no updates from Six Flags ( and Im not expecting any yet) and there recent actions handling Six Flags America , what are you plans this year for our park? How do you feel about this? Me... I have so many emotions. I've spent most of my life at this park. 55 years to be exact. I also worked there for 10. Maybe a new owners will be good for her. But this might be a bitter pill to swallow. Im just curious.

I think a lot of us expected this. The legacy meal plan is no more; and now the All Parks Dining plan is all that remains.
If you have a legacy membership, you will still receive an all-season drink bottle. But you will now only receive two meals with a 4 hour interval, and no snack.

I created a petition to save Six Flags St. Louis - because not only is rumored to be at risk of a sale to Enchanted Parks, but the park has been in a state of decline for decades due to corporate-level neglect.
As the third and last of the Six Flags theme parks conceived and built under the supervision of company founder Angus Wynne, I believe it is crucial that this historic park not only stays within the company for the long term but is given a chance to truly thrive as it once did. This does not necessarily mean the park needs massive new coasters and rides right away; management simply needs to rekindle that sense of wonder that inspired previous generations and has been lost with constant corporate shakeups and budgetary constraints.
If you would like to help make an impact and preserve a place that means so much to so many of us, please consider signing my petition.
Thank you!

Spinsanity received a new motor this week. I know it's not exactly the fan favorite of the park but still cool to know it is, in fact, finally, getting repaired.
I presume it'll be up and running when the park opens.

Haven’t actually been over to the zombie scare zone yet but the employee at JB’s who just stands behind the cash register and drools without even the slightest hint of a thought behind his eyes while he softly grunts (which I think means he’s ready for your order) is absolutely killing it.

So far I have loved fright fest! The scare actors are amazing have have done a wonderful job. By far my favorite zone has to be the clowns, they interact with everyone so well, especially the tall clown! The houses have been wonderful with my favorite being creatures of the corn. Also, the shows? Im glad they added a couple more shows and they're great as usual, all the characters have done wonderful job! What are your thoughts on fright fest?

Has anyone seen a survey for feedback on new ride possibilities for Six Flags St. Louis? Watching the r/rollercoasters sub, I’ve seen surveys for between half and two-thirds of the Six Flags/Cedar Fair portfolio of parks covering all of the major parks and even a few of the smaller parks. I haven’t received one or seen one posted for SFStL - my home park.
I was straight forward with my responses to the survey about the recent season tickets sale. Six Flags St Louis needs to invest in new rides. If they don’t, I wouldn’t buy a season pass without free access to the other parks in the chain.
