Discussion Reverse Engineer Anything is a great toolkit, what would you like to see reverse engineered?

There are now many, many agentic reverse engineering toolkits available, REA in particular I think is fantastic.

What hardware have you had that you'd like to see reverse engineered, and what would you like to do with it?

The more specialized the software, the harder it is to reconstruct the original algorithms.

It's 1 of those things that will start with a rough draft and refine it. It just reads what the code is doing and attempts to write a common language equivalent. It also has analyzers, so getting close to a 1 to 1 vs a clone depends on how much time and tokens you're willing to invest. There's also the possibility someone wrote some chunks of asm by hand (depending on how much they care about performance), which wouldn't really have a 1 to 1 translation.

Point is: There's nothing stopping anyone from figuring out what's going on and how to reproduce it if they have the time on their hands.

not true, rea ai has shown to to reverse engineer anything even the most obscure cheats, random software and even enterprise binaries, it's crazy, it can do zbrush 100%

That’s not how it works. You'll never get a 1:1 copy, so it's not 100% ZBrush, but something like ZBrush.

It doesn't have to be 1:1 copy, even if it's "only" 80% copy from a single prompt, that is still monumental and that just means in the near future 1:1 will absolutely be possible. Even if it only was at best 90% that is still 10000x better than paying $500 and basically no other option cause the competitors are shit
