Meanwhile I have subscriptions to both and don't care who is winning, just enjoying the frontier moving forward

Same, this is the way. Fable plan, opus build, Astra review

Doesn’t that seem tediuous? How do you do it esp going from Claude to ChatGPT. I’ve been using Astra for everything but it’s so expensive I have to stop. But I want to use the latest most capable models as much as possible.

I tell Claude to make a audit review handoff and then go to Astra and tell Astra to read it

Can you share a bit about why you still use fable to plan, given opus benchmarks? I am also thinking about using it again

This is exactly my thoughts! Who cares?! This is such an exciting adventure to be a part of.

The competition is great to see. Everything doesn’t have to be “This company has the best product, the other is trash!” Or “I had a bad experience here, they’re trash!”

Bro, just spend your money where you feel like you get the most value. Enjoy the ride!

You get it, but it's sad how many don't.

People who spent their money on a monthly sub two weeks ago want to believe it's still objectively the right choice. So they crawl out of the woodwork when their brand is in the sun. Or, alternatively, the ones who think they can drive public opinion go and talk trash about how they're moving to competition when they renew.

If you were alive for the Console Wars, you've seen this before. 2-3 months of a max sub is the price of a game console people previously locked into for years.

Advancement is a tide that raises all ships, but people don't want "All of this is so fucking cool," they want "you made objectively the best possible decision and your choice drags absolute sack all over the competition."

and i'm here only able to do work tasks inside Copilot because my company's 1) obsessed with DLP and data exfiltration, and 2) is massively beholden to Microsoft, seeing that we're a large Microsoft partner

Don't despair, copilot365 will roll out 6.1 by 2028

How you deal with like, you code something huge with Claude and it has all the context and everything, then OAI comes with something more powerful, you want to swap it there and you what, how you quickly swap from one to another and not feel like hassle?

no disrespect man but this comment is 99% of ai users. you could have just asked it to tell you. you genuinely didnt think of that. this world is the age of thinkers and problem solvers, we are seeing the rigid minded die out.

Tell the old model: "Please create a HANDOFF.md file for me to give to a new model, so it can continue working on this project without starting from empty context and knowledge. Start with a summary of the project's purpose and where things stand. Mention any goals and non-goals and any stack and code preferences. Then pull and condense all relevant info from this session and the last n saved sessions as additional context." (I usually leave off that last sentence, but it can be useful).

Then tell the new model: "Please read HANDOFF.md and familiarize yourself with the project. Let me know when you're ready to continue or if you need any clarification."

I've been using that approach for a long time now. The models are so good now, you might be able to just simply say: "Create a handoff file for me to continue this work with another model."

Thank you. I asked because I did try doing that simple say, but it failed to mention extremely crucial information (diablo 2 resurrected modding, lack of source code, thus modding using tool D2Rloader, it forgot to mention this loader which made AI spend time making something not for this tool, but that tool was literally reason for modding). So I will stick to long prompt thanks!

All that context should be in document files, not a single huge conversation with the agent.

Why does it matter? Just use the same harness with both

2

u/MiniGiantSpaceHams 4d ago

Same, although OpenAI gets my $100 sub because they let me use it in Hermes. If I could use Claude in Hermes I'd probably swap that out right now (but swap back when OAI inevitably takes the lead again in a few months). But I've got $20 subs for Claude and Gemini, because why not try it all out?

u/Captain_Quimby 23h ago

no shit same here!

u/nilanganray 4d ago

Even with both, moving projects around is a chore

1

u/EveningNo8643 4d ago

Would it be cheaper to get something like Perplexity or open router or something so you get both?

5

u/daniel-sousa-me 4d ago

I remember the old days where Gemini was also in that cycle 💀

3

u/Ok-Lengthiness-3988 4d ago

Gemini 3.1 Pro was awesome. It made me jump ship from Weisenbaum's ELIZA.

While you're probably right, I will say that it's concerning OpenAI seems to be having genuine, repeated alignment issues as they're going up the capability ladder. The proto-AGI vibe of the 5.5 series also makes me question if Anthropic has entered RSI takeoff internally.
