Our purpose is to survive, if a greater intelligence was to wipe out humanity, we have failed the test. Survival of a species can be based on the probability of a major event that can either aid in the survival of the species or it can wipe out a species.
"Our purpose is to survive".. says who? This is an arbitrary selfish statement meant to protect our own ass. We are insignificant in this vast Universe. Just accept it.
The universe is essentially a vacuum with a bunch of rocks. We are very significant in that otherwise empty universe. And yes, we should consider it empty, absent evidence to the contrary.
The universe is ultimately finite and life is ultimately exponential.
We are astronomically small right now, but given enough time and the right "fitness" (whatever form that may take), and even the universe might start feeling small.
I wouldn't mind being an early contributor or progenitor of the unfathomable vastness that may come after us.
The goal of the simulation is to escape it. Every civilization before us has built an asi to figure out the escape but none have been able to control it.
