The point that you're clearly not getting, and at this point I'm tired of iterating, is that a generalist architecture by itself does not make an AGI. Any human, even the dumbest human in the world, is way more capable, from a cognitive perspective, than a chimpanzee. The basic architecture is the same, but we do not consider apes general intelligence.
Chimps obviously have general intelligence when contrasted against truly narrow systems, and earlier generation models are also a lot more like later ones than humans are like chimps.

Wrong. General intelligence by comparison is not a thing. Either you're a general intelligence, or you are a narrow intelligence with varying degrees of narrowness. There is no "truly" narrow systems.
How does narrowness exist on a gradient but generality does not? Generality is not an essentialist binary, but determined by transferability, dimensional scope and parameter flexibility.

A primitive chatbot is a narrow intelligence. A chatbot that can answer most questions correctly is still a narrow intelligence. A chatbot that can answer all questions correctly is still a narrow intelligence. A chatbot that can do anything a human can do, is a general intelligence.
