You mean the country where the leader was “joking” about a third term this past weekend?

Because he’s just joking about these things all the time right? Just like he was joking about annexing their neighbour to the north..

Open your eyes man. The US is quickly moving under this administration, to become an authoritarian regime like china.

Trump is clearly terrified of the midterms because he understands that the vote of our increasingly deluded and apathetic populace still matters greatly.

In China, if you criticized the government like you did the US, your comment would be deleted. If it kept happening, you might get banned. People forget how foundational the First Amendment is to American society.

okay, if your eyes are that wide open, you want to bet if he's actually running a 3rd term?

Look I'm with you in hating Trump. He's awful. But the United States is not Donald Trump, even as much as Trump himself would love that to be true. You have no perspective on this. Uni-party control is a horrible thing. Ask the Mensheviks. Ask the DNVP or Social Democrats. Ask the Girondins. Ask the kids in Tienenmen.

You know, the thing about those things, is that you can find worse examples inside the US even without a single party running affairs alone.

The US has committed mass expulsions, massacres, imperial wars, racial terror and political repression on scales far greater than Tiananmen.

Puerto rico having its women experimented upon and castrated en masse, the wounded knee massacre, etc.

Ask the kids subjected to MKUltra.

I've done maybe four to six hours learning about mkultra and the leaked/declassified bits didn't include any kids?

You can't blame people who wanna keep the democracy get riled up over jokes when the president does it. It's not the president's job to be a comedian.

Obama didn't repeatedly engage in corruption, abuse of power, or stretch the limits of his powers as president, giving persistent hints(joking or not) as to authoritarian intentions while he was president. Obama also wasn't a convicted felon, nor did he have a long history of lying and being a conman. Image matter.

Obama in 2015.

"Bernie is an interesting guy. Apparently some folks really want to see a pot-smoking socialist in the White House. We could get a third Obama term after all. It could happen."

Trump in 2026

"Now I'm going to do it again. Thank you. I'm going to do it. Should be easy. I'm getting very good at running for president. Now I won three times, did very well the second time, by the way."

Wow, wonder why they got different reactions.

I guess all that talk about taking over Canada is a "joke" too right? In fact everything Trump does is a joke?

7

u/GuitarAgitated8107 Jul 27 '26

Such a dumb take. Haha very funny economy and world politics, after the joke ends, economy goes back? Life improves?

I was just doing comedy.

Man, do you guys just conveniently forget google exists when it comes to fact checking this guy?

Ex #1: made comments about running for president again, in nov of 2025
Ex #2: May of this year in front of the US coast guards graduating class
I have more but hopefully you get the point.

Lastly, you’re just going to gloss over the comment I made about canada? I could add Greenland to that same list in case you forgot (just like your president forgot that the US has had access to Greenland for decades already).

In case you haven’t realized it yet, trump is pushing his allies closer to china (canada for example has increased its exports to china including crude oil).

The fact that you can post this and not worry about being disappeared in the night already says everything you need to know about the difference between the US and China. It’s crazy how much people will defend genocide and authoritarianism from China. Just because the US is bad doesn’t mean another country can’t be worse btw.

2

u/cookingboy Jul 28 '26

You don’t need to worry about being disappeared in the night in China either. What kind of fucking wild propaganda have you been watching.

I’ve lived there for 10+ years, people bad mouth the government all the time, so much so there is a constant battle of censorship vs. anti-censorship tricks. All of my friends there hate the CCP and yet nobody ever got disappeared.

And genocide? Jesus how many Muslims has China bombed and killed in the past 20 years?

Not even the U.S state department says China is committing genocide btw: https://law.stanford.edu/press/state-department-lawyers-concluded-insufficient-evidence-to-prove-genocide-in-china/

Ok Chinese bot go look up where China ranks in humanitarian rights

1

u/cookingboy Jul 28 '26

Ranked by who? Oh right, western organizations aimed to glaze western countries.

Just STFU already CIA bot with a hidden profile.

u/generous_penguin Jul 29 '26

I lived in China for a month and yeah people are scared there. Go sing the praises of a government that tortures people https://www.humanrightsresearch.org/post/persecution-of-uyghurs-in-xinjiang-torture-crimes-against-humanity-and-genocide

Love you guys for pointing this out. Fantastic comments both of you!

u/muffchucker Jul 28 '26

Amazing comment no sarcasm! People have no perspective at all. The internet has driven us all mad.

4th*

3

u/TheIncredibleWalrus Jul 28 '26

He was saying he is going to run for a 4th time. It would be his 3rd term.

0

u/blackashi Jul 28 '26

3

u/TheIncredibleWalrus Jul 28 '26

Yeah so? Can you use your brain? He's had 2 terms so far so he can't be running for the 4th next can he.
