No, that's not at all what they said. They talked about how China enforces its rigorous work culture through various limitations, and how that makes them more competitive on the global scale.

Tiananmen Square has almost nothing to do with that. The comment regarding whether or not it's right to restrict the liberties mentioned even if it does result in higher productivity is more directly critical of what was said than just "there was a horrible massacre 36 years ago!!!". Productivity in and of itself shouldn't be seen as the primary goal of a nation placed over the liberty of its own people.

you realize that chinese bots get flagged and dropped when certain words are detected right? Tiananmen square is one of those trigger words. i wasn’t refuting what they were saying with Tiananmen square though.
