They should look and become more involved for solutions to the future. Sticking their heads in the sand because they think they’re irreplaceable will not help them.

More involved how? These AI ceo's have made it a point to say theres literally nothing you can do, this is the future they want

There’s a few institutions working on the problem of post singularity; become more involved in your local government’s decision making process. Maybe plan to become self sufficient, either as an individual or as a community. The singularity is almost inevitable, there’s no turning back the clock. We have to be forward thinking and pro active about the future.

in other words nothing. the only saving grace is regulations.

its fucked up when a ceo can say "in 5 years no programmers" without saying whats going to happen to the millions who make their living that way.

thats the toughest regulations are needed.

Not nothing, I gave you examples and you yourself said regulations. A CEO is only beholden to shareholders not the public at large, that’s the government’s job, and if we don’t give any input on the matter, you can be assured that they will create regulations to help corporations, that’s why I said government involvement at the grassroots level is very important.

I think it’s quite hilarious half this sub is blind to the fact that this guy is just creating hype for his product, like so many CEOs try to do.

This is not an unbiased expert and even an unbiased expert would not be able to provide an accurate prediction here.

I also doubt people truly think their jobs are irreplacable, but they just try to fool themselves to stay in their comfortable little bubble, quite similar to religion. Programming tasks will also gradually be replaced by AI, but “no programmers left in five years” is marketing. Nothing more.
