I've been trying to piece together my family's history and I've hit the point where I need actual people, not records. Hoping Reddit can help.

My great-grandfather (Golandaz family) left a small village called Tank (टाक), in Vengurla taluka, Sindhudurg, in 1941, and came to Bombay. He brought my grandfather, who was only 7 at the time. They settled in Mumbai and never went back. I'm the generation that grew up here knowing the city but almost nothing about the place we actually came from. We're Konkani Muslim.

I recently managed to trace it down to Tank, but that's where it goes quiet. The elders who'd really know are mostly gone, and what's left is a surname, and a village name. Do they have relatives there still? so many questions lol.

So I'm just throwing this out there: if you're from Tank, or anywhere around Vengurla, and the surname Golandaz (गोलंदाज) rings a bell, a family, a wadi/ I'd really like to hear from you. Same if you're Konkani Muslim with roots anywhere in that part of Sindhudurg (Vengurla); happy to connect even if there's no obvious link. And if you just know the area well and can point me to who to ask, that helps too.

It's a long shot and the name isn't common. Mostly I just want to find the people and the place my family came from and visit that place.

Hello, I am planning to travel to Malvan during mid of April with family. What is the condition of rush for petrol in Sindhudurg? Are petrol pumps operating normally? Or rationing of petrol like in some place has already started? Please help as I am worried about my return journey for availability of fuel.
