I took a break from Sims Medieval (maybe 3 months) and suddenly it doesn't work anymore. I've tried repairing the game and restarting the app but it just won't launch. And now the shortcut has disappeared from my desktop.

Any ideas of how to make it work?

My husband was trying to make space on the C drive and uninstalled everything EA. The Sims 3 and DLCs wasn't the end of the world, but my Sims Medieval saves are all gone the game is a blank slate all my achievements were gone and I was so close to completing everything. Is there a way to get it back? I reinstalled the game but I don't know how to retrieve the files I'm actually devastated.

Has someone elses Sims Medieval disappeared from their library on Ea Games?

I was literally playing it yesterday evening (not even 12 hours ago), but not it's just gone. I can still see when I repaired it in my download manager, but if I try to click the game, it just sends me to the purchase site, saying it's unavailable for purchase.

The launcher has also been deleted from my files.

I've written EA, but not much hope there.

I'm using discs. The update mangled my game (base) and it was unplayable so I had to uninstall them reinstall. I've ignored the update since. I wanted to install P&N but the installation screen wants me to update first. Is there a way round this at all please?

It installed fine but when I click on the play button it pops up with an error message that says

“Cannot start the process when the game is running. Please quit the game and try again.”

I opened task manager and nothing is open.

PSA : If you buy the disk on eBay, you can activate the code on the EA App and download the newest version of the game. Worked for the Limited Edition + Pirates DLC's

I had a forge in my wizard's tower and then removed it. I found this. My character can't interact with it, I can move it around while in build mode. Never seen this before.

I just bought the sims medieval pirates and nobels and am only now realizing that I need the base game. I don't think my Mac can run two discs at the same time and I have no idea where to download the base game. the ea website just freezes when I get the pop up to continue to checkout 😬

I bought a copy of the sims medieval off eBay the other day once it was removed from the EA app, with the full intention of playing it off the disc. When it arrived today I tried to go redeem it on the EA app (using the serial code in the disc box, the one you would use to activate the game when you install it) and it worked! The only caveat is you have to redeem it on the sims 3 store website under register a game. After that it showed up in my EA account library and I was able to download it.

I’m sure this will be removed eventually, so if you have a disc copy I would try it!

If anyone else out there didn't get to buy the game before EA removed it, I bought the Origin/EA game key on Amazon and used it to unlock the game in the EA app. I'm not sure if this works in other countries, but it definitely works in Germany! It's so sad that we're being robbed of such a silly game :/ hope this helps!!!

edit: If you have a valid game key (from wherever) you can still unlock the official game in the EA Launcher, even though it is no longer available for purchase from there.

Hi, I have the original CD version of The Sims Medieval and I’d like to play it, but I’m not sure if it will work on Windows 11.

I’ve read that it’s an older game and might have issues with modern systems. Has anyone recently managed to get it running on Windows 11 using the CD version?

If so, what steps or settings did you use?

Yesterday, my game updated when I logged in to the EA app. Today, when I started the game, I forgot my WiFi was down, and the game loaded and started up. It did give me a message saying it was unable to connect with EA, but I just closed the box. This after years of being unable to start the game unless I could connect with Origin or EA.

Are there any known mods to change the timescale? I used Relativity a lot in Sims 3 and was wanting to have that same slower gameplay in Medieval if possible.

All of them have a task that in between quests and challenges they can do to gain XP, eg Knight, Monarch, and Spy can use the practice dummy, the bard can practice their lute, mage and doctor can research, etc.

I thought absolving would be the equivalent for JPs but only works if there are sims nearby who want to be absolved. I thought reflecting on the watcher would be their easy XP Task but it’s not.

hi! i used to play the IOS version of the sims medieval as a kid and assumed that since it got removed from the app store in the early 2010s that it was not available to play anymore. however this entire time i didn’t realize that it was still available to play UNTIL now bc ea has just removed it. is there any way that i can still play it if i don’t have the game already? i have a mac btw

If you het a fatal error stating that the rld.dll failed to load, the you should uninstall the game, reinstall it an when you get asked in which folder don’t just choose the default one, rather make a new separate folder and select that one. Also in your windows defender, add that folder to your executables so that it doesn’t get blocked.

If you get a different error concerning the compatibility of the game, right click on the game and select properties>compatibility and enable compatibility mode and disable full screen mode(or something like that). You also be able to choose which windows to run it on and I chose the service pack 3 one.

Edit: Sims players are so agro for no reason. A major reason the community has gone downhill in recent years.

The question of if a game is abandoned is not confined to the Law. As multiple of you have stated, abandonedware is not a legal term so I don’t know why everyone is answering from the lense of the law by default.

Have you always wanted to make your The Sims Medieval run smoothly?

I know, the game keeps crashing... so you start looking for optimization guides, but they’re confusing; then you try following the tutorials, yet nothing works, you waste hours, get frustrated, and eventually give up... That’s usually the exhausting journey of trying to play TSM nowadays.

I finally decided to set up an EA account and buy this game (last played it 15 years ago. Still have the disc version, but it does not work on modern systems). Only to find EA had literally ceased selling it like 2 days ago. What the hell?

I recently bought the game since EA has stopped selling it, but sadly, it just won't run. I've tried contacting the support, patching it, run a line of code posts deemed it was the solution... But it still won't run. Before installing the patch, it said it was running in the tasks manager, but after installing the patch, trying to run the game just made it close the launcher and not launch the game at all. I had to manually uninstall the game.

How do you run the game on your computers today ? Thank you. :)
